Chapter 82
When they trained in Juin's Soul Dimension, Lucifer noticed that Juin could handle more than 10 Soul Fireb.a.l.l.s at the same time, not to mention that the strength of each of the fireb.a.l.l.s conjured increased exponentially. What was supposed to be yellow fireb.a.l.l.s was now tinted with a few red fireb.a.l.l.s.
What was more, was that Juin could last double the time before. Therefore, Juin's confidence in himself received a boost, and he had a feeling that he would be able to handle himself better this time.
He looked up at Lucifer and was about to say something to Lucifer when the cla.s.sroom door was opened. Warlock soon walked in with his usual indifferent expression and a pair of sungla.s.ses.
"Let's talk about this later," Juin mumbled before sitting up straight, getting ready to start the afternoon session.
---
"Shut up now, kids. Put away your books and get ready for your test!" Warlock said loudly as he pa.s.sed out a stack of papers to one of the kids at the front. He then picked up a whiteboard duster and threw it at a sleeping teenage boy with bright red hair.
Just as the duster was about to hit the teenager, the teenager raised his right hand and caught the duster deftly.
When the kid looked up with an annoyed expression, Warlock said without any guilt, "Wake up now, Wolfe. If you fail again, you're running 30 laps this time."
The sleepy Wolfe Sterling groaned and sat up straight. He then threw the duster back at Warlock before saying, "These tests are a waste of time, and you know it."
"You kids are a waste of my time, but I'm still here, stuck trying to teach you," Warlock retorted after he caught the duster. He then walked to behind his desk and looked at his watch. "Hurry up and pa.s.s those papers around! And Juin!"
"Yes, sir!" Juin looked at Warlock in surprise, wondering what the man was up to now.
Warlock sat down at his seat and put his legs on the desk as he glanced at Lucifer who was floating in midair. He then took off his sungla.s.ses and looked at Juin before saying with a wave of his hand, "Don't think you are safe just because you didn't end up last the other day. I want to see you in my office after cla.s.s today to discuss
Juin frowned. "Erm… Yes, sir."
…
A few hours later, Juin sat in Warlock's office, looking confused as to why he was made to come over. He had been sitting here for almost 15 minutes, but Warlock was nowhere to be found. Yet…
Juin glanced at the opened door and looked at Lucifer who was in a sitting position in midair and had an annoyed expression on his face. "Even though he's not here, his ward is still active…"
Bored, Juin got up and walked around the room, taking a brief glance at the items around the room. There were a few small bookcases around the room, and above one of them was a small decorative dagger that was placed on a black decorative stand.
The black dagger shone slightly under the reflection of the sunlight that came in through the windows, and Juin found himself unable to tear his eyes away from it. He stared at it for a long time, admiring it from the top to bottom.
Other than the uniquely black sharp knife that had a mythical feeling to it, the dagger had a dragon-like handle, with the dragon's mouth at the bottom of the hilt, biting a round, red ruby that had a red thread pa.s.sing through it.
"Is this here before?" Juin thought as he reached out to touch it.
However, before he could touch it, he heard a stern voice saying, "What are you doing?!"
Out of reflex, Juin immediately pulled his hand back and stood up straight. "Nothing!"
Warlock, who had just arrived, glanced at Lucifer. He then snapped his fingers, upon which Lucifer was released from the cage. "You can join us today, Mr. Lucifer," Warlock said as he walked into the room.
Annoyed, yet knowing his own strength, Lucifer could only swallow his anger for now and floated in behind Warlock. The moment he got into the room, the door was closed on itself.
"Sit, Juin…" Warlock said as he took his seat. "I thought you would have learned your lesson by now. Do not touch things that don't belong to you."
Juin looked at Lucifer before giving Warlock a wry glance. "I'm sorry, Mr. Warlock. I was just fascinated by the dagger…"
Warlock glared at him, causing Juin to look down in fear. He then looked at the dagger on the bookcase. With a wave of his hand, the dagger dislodged itself from its stand and flew over toward him, causing a nick on Lucifer's arm.
"What the-" Lucifer raised a brow as he looked at the nick on his arm. It wasn't bleeding, but something that appeared like blood flowed out of it. Fortunately, it was healed within seconds.
"What just happened?" Juin asked as he had seen it. "How did the dagger manage to cut His Majesty? He's just a soul!"
"His Majesty?" Warlock laughed. He glanced at Lucifer while playing with the dagger. "You are surely your father's child. Arrogant, overbearing, and complete royal pain in the a*s."
Upon hearing Warlock's description of Lucifer, Juin could not help but chuckle a little, thus receiving Lucifer's glare. "I'm sorry," Juin apologized and quickly cleared his throat. He then looked at Warlock and asked, "Mr. Warlock, what's that dagger?"
"This?" Warlock threw the dagger up in midair and caught it before saying with a grin, "This is a dagger made from a piece of unique obsidian that was soaked in the blood of a ghost-eating monster for more than 500 years. I recently got this from an old friend of mine."
"It can hurt" Juin glanced at Lucifer briefly and said, "a soul like Lucifer?"
Warlock nodded. "It can't kill a soul, but if you make a deep enough cut in a soul or a ghost, it can suck away its energy, weakening it enough for you to kill or capture it."
"You!" Lucifer snapped.
"Calm down," Warlock said nonchalantly, not bothering to even give Lucifer a glance. "For a soul as powerful as you, it wouldn't be able to weaken you much."
He then placed the dagger on the desk and pushed it to Juin. "It's yours now…"
"What?!" Juin gasped as he looked at the dagger in front of him in disbelief. "You are giving this to me? Why?" he asked curiously. Just on the superficial side and ignoring the mysterious aura that the dagger was exuding, which even he could feel, the dagger looked like it was really expensive, with two small round rubies as the eyes of the dragon.
