The Demon King's Cowardly Vessel

Chapter 91

BAM!

BAM!

BAM!

BAM!

Blue b.a.l.l.s of flames that singed the hair could be felt miles away, b.a.l.l.s of wind that generated enough power to sway the trees from a distance, frozen b.a.l.l.s of ice that appeared to freeze the air from the moment they were launched attacked the s.h.i.+eld in a frenzy.

Using the powers of fire, ice, and wind, three of the five Western dragons attacked at the same spot over and over again, until they finally broke through the s.h.i.+eld. A bright red light flashed before the s.h.i.+eld crumbled into nothingness.

"ROAAARRR!!!" the dragon with the red scales roared loudly as it spread out its wings fully, covering almost 15 meters. It flew around the broken s.h.i.+eld once as it spat flames at the soldiers around it. When it landed on the platform later, it created a crater where it landed.

Raising one of its' front feet, it then smashed it down, causing a huge line crack that traveled to the end of the platform, breaking it into two.

"They broke the s.h.i.+eld…" someone gasped loudly among the sound of weapons clas.h.i.+ng with the dragons. Their s.h.i.+elds were good at defending against the dragons' attacks, but their weapons could barely hurt these creatures.

The soldiers immediately regrouped and attacked the dragons with various talismans and spells instead of magical weapons.

Unfortunately, their attacks were mostly futile toward these powerful dragons.

"BRING THE CERBERUS AND SABERTOOTH!" someone in the battlefield yelled loudly.

While the dragons were making their way to the coffin, Thadeus landed on the Quetzalcoatl and said to the golden dragon, Grab the little prince and meet me at the agreed place!"

The golden dragon roared loudly before diving toward the coffin.

As for Thadeus, he had full confidence that the golden dragon would finish his mission, so he turned to look at the other dragons that were still battling. He noticed that some of the guards were bringing out the steeds... and a Cerberus and a sabertooth tiger that were almost as big as the Western dragons, so he quickly put in the order, "Stop any pursuing soldiers. I'll see

Riding the Quetzalcoatl, he moved around, dodging attacks and repelling some, until he saw the woman that he was looking for. She was completely pale and surrounded by soldiers who were dragging her toward the palace.

"Leave her!" Thadeus roared as he quickly used his magic and conjured up hundreds of light arrows that were aimed at the soldiers.

Just as the soldiers all had their eyes kept on him, Cahryss used this chance to conjure a spell. A black sphere appeared around her and burst outward, knocking the soldiers a few meters away from her and rendering them unconscious.

Once they were down, Thadeus immediately redirected his arrows toward the members of the council who were trying to attack the dragons. He could not even be bothered to look at them directly. All he heard were screams of pain as the arrows..h.i.t some of the members of the council.

Thadeus quickly darted toward Cahryss and carried her up in his arms.

"You seriously did that…" Thadeus scolded her as he felt her life force by placing a hand on her pale cheek. He could feel her life force depleting quickly, and burned marks mysteriously appeared on her body, as if she was being burned by an invisible fire.

Yet, even though she was the one in pain, Thadeus was the one with teary eyes. Both his eyes glowed as he placed a hand on her chest. Cahryss moaned when she felt the soothing healing energy flowing through her body, and the pain that she was suffering from earlier subsided slightly.

"You could have waited for me…" Thadeus chided her gently.

"My son…" Cahryss looked at the golden dragon that was now flying off with the small coffin. The other dragons were holding back the soldiers as well as the Cerberus and Sabertooth. With the involvement of the two mythical creatures, the dragons were now having a harder time than before.

"Groowwl…" Quetzalcoatl growled slightly as if it was warning Thadeus not to dally around any longer.

"He'd be fine…" Thadeus consoled Cahryss before jumping onto the Quetzalcoatl's back with her. "Q, let's go! We need to get out of here fast!"

The Quetzalcoatl humphed and flew up into the air, and before the eyes of Ralmaroz, who had just gotten back, and some of the others, it disappeared in midair along with Thadeus and Cahryss.

This was one of the powers of Quetzalcoatl, invisibility.

"CAHRYSS!!!" Ralmaroz yelled as he flew up in midair and chased after where he last saw the Quetzalcoatl. "ARGGH!!!"

---

Cahryss looked at her husband as she leaned her head against Thadeus' chest. In order not to create too much wind as that could alert their pursuers, the Quetzalcoatl was just flying slowly in midair.

From the moment it activated its invisibility skill, it had actually turned direction, which meant that Ralmaroz was now chasing in the wrong direction.

"Don't do this, Cahryss…" Thadeus whispered before leaning down to kiss her on the forehead. He was extremely worried about her when he saw her pale condition. "I'll do it… I'll take the child and protect him…"

"T-This is not s-something that one person can do…" Cahryss said in difficulty as she tore her gaze away from her husband. A single drop of tear fell from her eye as she held onto Thadeus' s.h.i.+rt tightly. "I-If you ever… see him… tell him that I'm sorry…"

"Youll tell him that yourself," Thadeus snapped before hugging her tighter. He disliked Ralmaroz, but he knew Cahryss loved the man, for whatever reasons, and if so, Thadeus was willing to tolerate the arrogant guy.

"Q, let's go to our hiding place now…" Thadeus said softly as he patted the body of the Quetzalcoatl.

The dragon growled before turning its body around.
