The Demon King's Cowardly Vessel

Chapter 97

Looking at the dagger in his hand, which had a reddish-black cloud-like thing, Juin's eyes turned sharp all of a sudden. He raised his left hand and slashed across the dartboard with it.

The moment he moved, Warlock and Lucifer both stared intently at the dagger, wondering what would happen next.

They watched as a red and black afterimage that seemed to have multiple glowing eyes in them followed behind the dagger as Juin slashed across the dartboard.

Before the dartboard could show any response to the attack, the wall and items behind it all caught on red and black flames that burst out of nowhere. Thankfully, the ward that Warlock activated earlier worked quickly, and the flames disappeared in less than five seconds, returning everything back to normal.

The disappearance of the charred marks on the wall and items made it seem like nothing had even happened before.

However, the dartboard that burst into flames upon the disappearance of the other flames could not be contained, and the flames grew stronger in just a matter of seconds, singing the hair off Warlock and Juin's arms.

"Contain!" Warlock mumbled as he shot out a white ball of energy that consumed the dartboard and the flames, thereby completely preventing it from burning everything down. Unlike the other items that were burned, even though the flames on the dartboard was gone, the charred marks on the dartboard remained, leaving behind its recent history.

PLACK!

PLACK!

The dartboard split into two from the splash earlier and fell onto the ground, one after another. Warlock frowned when he saw the vein-like charred marks on the two pieces of the dartboard.

"In his hand, the dagger can break through ward and attack his intended target directly?" he thought to himself. "Is this because of his demon king's power?"

After hesitating for a few seconds, he then dispersed the ward and looked at Juin with a slight frown as he thought, "His power is already this strong even before he learns how to fully control them?"

Juin stared at the dagger in his hand, which was now

"Juin!"

The voice helped Juin get out of his thoughts, and he turned to look at Warlock.

"We need to talk. Sit down," Warlock said as he gestured to the chair.

Juin nodded and sat back on his seat. "How did I do?"

"Great… and not so great," Warlock said with a sigh. He looked at Lucifer and asked, "What do you think of his power?"

Lucifer glanced at Warlock briefly before replying, "He wasn't this powerful when we last trained, which was last night… And it wasn't just flames that he used earlier. There was something else in his aura."

Lucifer had a similar aura to Juin, but whereas his power was cleaner, Juin's power was more… erratic.

Warlock nodded. "Now that the conscious part of him is no longer restricted, it is now releasing more soul power by the second…"

"It's not a good thing…" Lucifer mumbled. Now that he knew what Juin was, he had to be slightly more cautious when dealing with him. "Even if he is a perfect vessel, if his soul power gets too strong before his physical body is strong enough to handle it, it may break his body."

"I'm powerful?" Juin asked, his eyes twinkled slightly at the knowledge.

"No!" Both Lucifer and Warlock said.

Lucifer scoffed, "You are just slightly more powerful than yesterday. I can still take you down easily, so don't let that get to your head. And did you not hear that I said it may break your body."

"Listen to your demon," Warlock said. "It's good that you are getting stronger, but you need to work on the conditions of your physical body. Keep exercising and practicing with Lucifer. He's not the most reliable demon, but he was trained to be a Daemon King, so there are things that he would know better."

Juin looked at the two of them with a brow raised and thought, "These two were still arguing earlier, and now they are ganging up on me? What exactly did they talk about earlier?"

Warlock looked at the dagger on Juin's hand and said, "We need to get you trained before you hurt someone unintentionally. The dagger is meant for you to focus your power into it and making it part of your limbs. Like your hand, you should learn how to wield it naturally. Starting from tomorrow, after school, you will go to the third floor of the left-wing building."

Juin nodded subconsciously, but he soon shook his head and looked at Warlock. "But it's locked."

Warlock took a key out of his top desk drawer and said, "Use this…"

As Juin held the key in his hand, he could feel a slight energy coming off it. He had heard stories from the other students, that the doors to the third and fourth floors of the left-wing building were locked so tightly that no one had ever broken in successfully before.

"So, this is why…" Juin thought as he put the key into his pocket. If a spell had been placed on the doors, then that might be the reason why no one was able to break in, especially those normal humans.

Tap!

Tap!

Tap!

Juin looked up and saw Warlock staring at him in the eye as the latter said in a serious tone, "Power means nothing if you can't control it, remember that."

Juin blinked, and after a second, he nodded solemnly. "I'll remember that."
