Bewitching Prince Spoils His Wife: Genius Doctor Unscrupulous Consort

Chapter 531

The whole of earth had been turned into a war ravaged kingdom in the past six years. They didn't have a name for the war but calling it World War III would not be an understatement. After all there were far more casualties than both the previous World Wars combined together. It wasn't a fit name though, history freaks argued and so that name was promptly discarded. Instead it was called the Were Wulf war.

It was like a twisted and horrible joke that many places on earth were still suffering from it. People still argued over the name but according to lycanthropy experts it was the perfect name. In ancient times the term werewolf was used without consequences about fictional beasts that could turn into wolfs at will or in some stories with the influence of the moon. The name itself explained the beasts; 'were' meant man and 'wulf' was a word for wolf. Men who could turn into wolves—they were not human, they were beasts.

"Some people think that this is the end of the war. It isn't. This is just the beginning." Everyone knew Garry Powell deserved to be chained and kept in a mental asylum, seeing his wife beheaded by the wolves and the unborn baby in her stomach ripped out and shredded was what had caused this; reduced the once promising politician into this–a mentally unhinged raving lunatic.

"This news is old, but it isn't really anyone's fault." Jin said somewhat sadly, peeling the potato skin. They were lucky to get a few hours of electricity with the wolves that now controlled their entire government and world. News

"I know that!" Her little sister, Kaiza, snapped at her. She hated being talked to like a child and ever since their older brother had been reduced to a cripple during a fight with those monsters, she had been angry at the world.

A werewolf's bite could do two things: it could either kill the person or turn them into half of them—a horrid creature as wild as an actual wolf who could not s.h.i.+ft into wolf form and was humanoid with fur and paws with nails for killing.

Kaiza's brother, Nik had been turned into a half wolf—he could not transition into a wolf but he had the nature and tendencies of one—but he could also no longer use his left leg and both his arms. It killed him inside slowly. Kaiza had watched as her brother had turned into a lunatic and begged to be killed; in his few final days his mouth had been gagged because no one wanted to hear those pleas for death anymore. Their father and mother were already dead, killed by werewolves and the 'no one' only included Kaiza and her elder sister, Jin.

Kaiza had taken one look in her brothers' once lively pale green eyes and realized that even though he survived, he was dead inside. After enduring the looks for one month, one day when her heart throbbed and shattered into a million tiny pieces she picked up the knife and cut the gag, slightly nicking his face.

He only watched her curiously. She leaned over, hugging him and granted him the dying wish her already dead brother had asked for—to be killed—and stabbed the knife into his stomach.

"I love you brother and because I cannot stand to watch you suffer any longer, I free you. Fly high Nik, soar like the proudest eagle. I love you." With that she slowly took out the knife. It was sticky with blood and her hand too had been stained a dark crimson. She stabbed him again but this time she drove the knife straight into his still beating heart.

Blood flew and landed on her face and crème dress but she could care less as she saw her brother smile at her and whisper, "Thank you, Kaiza. I love you too. I haven't been myself these past few months but now I am, and I am finally free."

Those were the last words he ever spoke as his eyes rolled back and blood spurted out from his chest, his breathing slowed down until there was nothing left.
