Chapter 31
She was already intoxicated when she went to Allure. She wanted to drink for her pathetic heart in beating for the wrong guy. She wanted to drown herself and maybe tomorrow, she would wake up with an aching head not an aching heart. At least, the remedy is easy when she had hang over.
She did not know how many bottles of liquors she knocked down, she only knew that her heart is still aching.
She had her own room booked and from there, she went down to the common area to watch the people dance. She loved dancing but dance did not love her. She did not have any inclination towards music because according to her, notes seemed to run away from her.
The common area is filled with different people with statuses. They enthusiastically danced to the beat.
She sat on the stool before the bar counter and ordered again. Her usual white face is now painted with blush red. She's drunk but not drunk enough.
Beside her was a man that
She started to hiccup and the bartender refused her to have another drink.
Would they usually do this?
As their compensation of the refusal to give her alcohol, they served her non-alcoholic beverages which made her fell asleep in that instant.
She just noticed that she felt like she was being lifted by two strong arms.
But she did not care anymore. She just wanted to ease her heart throbbing with pain.
Brandon carried her to his car and drove away - towards the city. He wanted to return to his place but how about this woman? How will he deal with her?
He wanted to wake her up, but then she sounded really asleep.
What was he thinking bringing the woman back with him? He did not even know her! How was he suppose to send her home when she did not want to wake up?
Frustrated, he stepped his accelerator hardly. Hardly that the car he was driving was close to flying. It even left burn marks on the asphalt road.
He arrived at his penthouse carrying the unconscious woman his arms. He had really enough. When they were nearing the city, the woman kept crying like mad. He did not know how to calm her down so, he let her be. She wailed and wailed until she fainted.
He opened the guest room to place the woman there but he remembered that the room lacked beddings and even ventilation. The climate was somewhat cold so, he did not dare left the woman inside that room, instead he carried her to his bedroom.
Since he initiated the kindness to bring the woman along, he could not abandon her out of guilt. What was he really thinking back at the bar?
He was still wearing a suit. He angrily tossed his necktie down to the sofa and sat down with force. He crossed his arms to his chest and began pondering as to why he really brought the woman back.
He was just staring at her sad face. It showed that something broke inside the woman, like him. They were both broken. And the rest was purely out of instinct.
He closed his eyes to ease his throbbing head. The alcohol he drank earlier started to mellow down. He had high alcohol tolerance and the liquor will die down in his system. He kept ma.s.saging his forehead and walked back to his room mindlessly.
He tossed his clothes around the room not caring where it went and climbed up to the bed with only his boxers on.
Lizzy on the other hand, felt something that was beside her. Thinking that she was alone in the room and the thing beside her was just a comfortable pillow, she snuggled closely.
Brandon, could not properly sleep as he tossed and turned around but when Lizzy snuggled closely to him, he felt comfortable and he immediately drifted to sleep.
