LEAVE OUT ALL THE REST

Chapter 3

"Arina!" My voice boomed through the hallways of our campus.

It was dismissal so it doesn't matter.

"Ellie you're way too loud," she said.

I smiled at her.

"Let's go home together!" I cheerfully said.

"Sorry, Ellie. I have somewhere to go this afternoon."

"And where is that?" I asked.

"We have an activity in one of our subject. Josh is my partner and we'll do it in their house."

"Did you say Josh?"

"Yes."

"That Josh?"

"The one and only." She said with a victorious smile in her face.

I squealed in excitement.

"He's here! You should go and have fun!" I waved at her goodbye when she turned her back to me.

I went home after they left.

--

We have a lot of things to do since midterms is coming.

It was 1:09 in the morning when my cellphone rang. Arina's calling.

"What's up, Arina?" I asked after picking up the phone.

There was no answer.

"h.e.l.lo?"

White noise is all I can hear.

"Arina?"

I checked my phone to confirm the number and it really is Arina's.

"Are you there?"

"Arina, are you okay?"

I heard some whimpers and whimpers turned into little sobs.

"Are you crying? What happened?"

She ended

I kept calling her til I fell asleep.

--

That morning, I went to school and looked for Arina all day but their cla.s.s president said she is absent.

It was dismissal when I saw Josh in the parking lot.

"Jos.h.!.+"

He looked around to see who's calling him and he smiled when he saw me. I walked up to him.

"Oh. Hi, Ellie," he said.

"Josh have you seen Arina?"

"No. I was actually upset because we were supposed to report the activity a.s.signed to us but she stood me up," he said looking a bit p.i.s.sed.

"Is that so? What time did you sent her home last night?" I asked.

"It was already 8:00 PM since the activity we did consumed a lot of time. I didn't dropped her home though. She asked me to just drop her by to the convenience store two blocks from their dormitory because she would buy something. I told her that I'll wait for her but she insisted that I should go home."

"Okay. Thank you, Josh. I'll get going," I said politely.

"You're always welcome. Want me to take you home?" he asked and tap the s.p.a.ce in his motorcycle seat.

"Uh, no. Thanks, Josh. Bye."

I wanted to go to Arina's dormitory but I still have to finish my report tomorrow. I have load works to do tonight.
