Chapter 46
"Oh, little man wants to be a hero? Okay! I can give it to you!" The man looks like he has taunted by the boy's action. He took out his rifle and aimed at the boy's body then he pulls the trigger.
"Bang!" the sound of death rings among the boy and Medusa's ears.
"No!" Medusa cries out loud, but there is nothing she can do. Any life form is weak in front of the death's face.
"Hahaha!" The man laughs like he just witnessed an interesting show and he is the main character. Then he walks in front of the boy's body and squats down; he looks at the boy's body, it is that little, that weak, helpless and cold. The man spits onto the boy's body and then taunts him even more,
"Not so heroic now! Do you?"
Then he stands back up and creepy smiles at Medusa and slowly walks towards her.
"Oh! Little beautiful, my precious, don't be so afraid! It's just a little trouble I have to take care!"
"..." Medusa is both sad and scared; she doesn't know what to do because she has no strength to stand up and run away even if she can't. The boy's death has a significant factor distributed to Medusa; inside of her, the boy's death is all her fault. If she didn't have the pretty face, if she is not a girl, if she is a little bit stranger, then the boy wouldn't die. When someone witnessed something intense, their logical processor in their brain will shut down automatically, and the emotion sensor will overtake its place to control one's action. Right now, Medusa is a living example; the sadness, guilt, responsibility is starting to take over the control of her, causing her brain to dysfunction like a machines overload leading it to force shut down.
"Don't be so afraid!" The man looks at Medusa's terrified face and enjoys it very much; then he throws away his rifle,
"Is it my gun got you horrified? Hahaha! See? I threw my gun so that it won't destroy our happy time!" The man throws away his gun on the floor on the way toward Medusa and smirks, saying all the lew thing to Medusa.
"NO! NO! Get away from me!" Medusa screams; the little did she know, her loud voice has disturbed the wild beast that is resting inside of the forest and now slowly approaching Medusa's voice.
"Oh,
"Ahhh! Get away from me! Don't touch me!" Medusa continues to scream.
Then the man suddenly stops and puts up an evil smile then said,
"Oh, my precious! You know I'm a man, I have needs! In this world there is no right and wrongs; the town we live in has taken a step further to push the boundary even deeper. In here I don't have to worry about my consequences, I can do whatever I want because the people here are foolis.h.!.+ I see you are planning on escaping this town. Why would you do that! The world outside is even more evil and sinful; people are ugly, they don't do what we do! They don't show their true ident.i.ties, they put on their unique disguise and then do what we do! Are you ready to handle the outside world? They will eat you alive and swallow you hole then act like they are the innocent and frames you for whatever they have done. In the end, you will become the victim of your own! Are you smart enough to escape from those monsters' hands? You will not have your hero to save you like this time! Are you self-fish enough to protect yourself? I don't think you are ready to face the outside world! Come to me! I will be your hero and save you! I'll keep you protected in my house! You will not have any threat from the unknown danger! Come to me! I'm your freedom!" The man said.
Medusa is under her sadness' control; she didn't listen to a word that is coming out from the man's mouth; all she thinks about is the boy's death. The boy that promise to keep her from all danger, threats is now dead, killed in front of her eyes because he is trying to save her. She wants to run away from all these that is happening. She doesn't have the bravery to face the truth she witnessed.
"NO! I don't know! I don't want to know! Get away from me!" Medusa despairingly screams.
"You want freedom, right? Then why are you keeping freedom from you? You know everything has it's price, right? What is your price for your freedom? What I don't think it is cheap, isn't it?" The man said.
"Ahhhh" All Medusa can reply is her terrifying screaming.
"Oh, Medusa, I love your scream! Your terrified look is so delicious like an nicely baked apple pie!" The man mentions her name; however, no one tells this Medusa's name, it is strange that the man knows her name.
Medusa is too busy screaming to notice this small detail; all she can think about is what is she going to do right now!
"I killed your lover! So what I killed him! He is weak, so like you too! Oh, baby, you are too soft to face the outside world's cruelness! You are not evil like the outsiders; you are like a sheep walking freely in front of the lions' eyes. Weak, foolish, naive!" The man taunts.
"Roar!" Suddenly a horrifying sound alerts the man and Medusa. Even though Medusa is not at her best state, but the aggressive sound clears up her mind a little; helps her get out of the hopeless infinity loop.
"Oh s.h.i.+t! It's the beast! It must be you that wakes the beasts up! You will pay for this!" The man quickly walks back toward to the spot where he threw his gun trying to get it back to protect himself. Unfortunately, before the man can reach his weapon, a fierce looking lion comes out of nowhere, standing on top of his gun, looking straight at the man. In the lion's eyes, this strong, muscle man is its delicious lunch!
The man stands still harmlessly looking back at the lion, hoping it doesn't eat him for lunch.
Medusa is standing in the back, seeing the unrealistic situation happens like in the movies. The first thought Medusa pops out in her head, run away from the scene, but the calm she gets from hearing and seeing such wild beast makes her think logically to handle this situation.
If she starts to run right now, the lion will see her as its initial enemy and will jump over the man come hunting for her; therefore, Medusa quickly gives up on that idea and starts to think about a second way to out survive the man. What can she do to keep the lions' focus on the man, but not her, and at the end can spear her worthless life?
