Chapter 51
The boy noticed that and was amazed by how dedicated Medusa is toward getting her freedom for the future. Even though she couldn't come up with anything in her mind, she at least tried to think everything through to come up with a solution that will help the situation she is in right now. Unlike most of the children that are the same age as her, they wouldn't have the patient and mind to come up with a solution by themselves; they often will turn their back on the situation and wait for help, then all of them will end up with one result, death.
The kids in Medusa's age never experienced despair, hunger, helpless; they are surrounded by joy and guidance their entire life. That is good and bad at the same time for the children; the benefits are the children can grow up healthily and happily, don't need to worry about anything, and not have to face death at a very young age. On the other hand, it has its disadvantages of not being able to survive when all they have is gone, and when their habit of waiting for someone to come to help appear, it often lead them to destruction.
Medusa deserves to live a happy and relaxing life because she is sweet and positive toward life; however, life never goes the way people wish it to be, and Medusa is a perfect example of this incident.
When people have desires, their life will dramatically change because they have the drive to do something they never thought of doing before their desire shows up. The desire mindset also applies to children too, when kids don't have anything they want, their life is boring and straightforward; doing what they are told to do, living their life with discipline, doesn't dare to try anything excited. Medusa was one of them before meeting the boy! Her life is tragic, no hope, colorless, boring, everything that is negative is the best word to describe her experience. She once tries to run away, but she fails because when she runs away, she doesn't have a goal, a motive, a desire. All she wants to do is escape the town, and never come back; however, she doesn't know what to do. Next, she has no courage to continue when she encounters problems, that is why she fails
When the boy shows in her life, he gives her a dream, a fantasy, a desire. Whenever she is scared, she thinks back to the goal that she hasn't finished yet. The dream that is so close yet so far from her, the desire she has that is not satisfied; she keeps her mouth shut, and take on the hards.h.i.+p she faced and defeats it and continue with the journey. She has grown so much since she meets the boy.
Desire makes Medusa grow up so much. Desires make Medusa live her life better like a tree encounters storms.
"What is in your mind, Medusa?" The boy asks.
"Pieces of ideas that don't fit well together..." Medusa signs.
"It's okay, Medusa! You've done well enough! Let me give you a hint to help you out!" The boy smiles and pets Medusa's head,
"To ensure that the town people have food with them, what should you do?" The boy asks.
"I should ask them?" Medusa answers.
"If a stranger asks you if you have food with you out in the wild forest, would you answer?" The boy didn't critics Medusa's answer but asks her a question.
"No! Why would I do that...!" Medusa answers and soon realized what is her mistake on her previous answer.
"Oh! If I go up to them and asks they would, one, kill me; second, rob me!" Medusa answers.
"Yes! That can be the outcome if you go up to them ask them." The boy comments,
"If you can't straight up go asks them, what other ways can you do to know if they have food?" The boy continues.
"I can observe them by far?" Medusa uncertainly answers.
"Yes, finish your idea!" The boy said.
"I can hide inside this forest and sneak behind the town people and wait for them to get hungry to see if would take out food to eat. If they do, and it is little, then they have enough food for them self." Medusa explained.
"Yes, good thinking!" The boy compliments,
"If it is more than two people and then takes out a little amount of food then that means they don't have enough for the group of people. What will you do after knowing they have food on them?" The boy hints one more time and then asks another question.
"More than two people..." Medusa couldn't process the idea that the boy hints her.
"If you have more work than you can handle at once what will you do?" The boy asks.
"I will do the work separately to decrease the pressure and difficulties." Medusa answers.
"Okay... Now apply that mindset to what I ask you." The boy said.
"More than two people... I will take them out separately?" Medusa weakly answers because Medusa knows that she is not strong enough to do what she said, and she doesn't want to disappoint the boy once again.
"Yes. Now, do you think you are beautiful among all the other girls?" The boy asks a strange question.
"Yes..." Medusa confuses, but still, proceed to answer the boy.
"When is human's weakest time to defend themselves?" The boy asks another strange question that is entirely unrelated to the plan that they are currently working.
"When they sleep?" Medusa replies.
"Which means when?" The boy smiles implying Medusa to continue with the answer.
"When their guard is down?" Medusa squeaks because she is confused with all the random question the boy is asking her.
"Good answer! Now last question and you can get on with the plan we worked on!" The boy exclaims while flowing in the air with his both hand clapping and flies circles around Medusa.
"Can you make a human to let their guard down?" The boy stops flying around Medusa and puts on a serious face and asks.
"..." Medusa didn't answer right away and fell into silence to consider the question because she sees the boy has his serious face.
The boy sees Medusa is taking her time to figure out the secret behind all his question; he smiles and said,
"You are beautiful when a human sees a beautiful thing they will want to go near and have a close up look at it. When they think the beautiful thing is vulnerable and weak, they will put down their guard, and fully enjoy the moment of happiness. Now, what can you do, Medusa?"
