Chapter 10
"Hey James I heard that you got a free pod from the lottery, is that true?"
"Yes."
"You are only the only one that I know who got something from that lottery. I was really disappointed when I didn't get one. So tell me, how is it like in the game?"
"It feels more real than any game before. If it wasn't for the system, I really would have beloved that I was in a different world."
"d.a.m.n, that sounds great. Now I fell like working more to get moneys faster so that I could buy a pod."
"Enough chit chat, get back to work," said the boss. After work, James went home. He then went on his phone to text his friends.

Max: I'm gonna miss you when I get to college.
James: It's hard to believe that you and Laurence got into one of the top colleges. I wasn't smart enough to even apply there.
Max: Which college did you get into to?
James: I'm going to the local community college. Anyways, good lick over there.
Max: Bye.

James was deep in thought. His friends are all going to top tier colleges around the country, while he was stuck at home. It would have been depressing for him, but he has more time to play Realm of Legends than them. He then logged back into the game. When he logged in, he found himself on the bed that he was sleeping on. He saw that his roommate left.
'I should get to cla.s.s now, can't fall behind everyone at the starting point.'
When he go to the
"I am sorry about this, but the king has decided to send you less talented foreigners to branch academies. Those who pledged loyalty to the kingdom would be given better resources than those who have not."
"Am I given the option to do that?"
"It doesn't matter if you pledge your loyalty or not, you still would have been demoted to some branch academy, but a professor has taken a interest in you, so you better not screw this up. Report to him within the hour."
Sirius was confused by the sudden change of heart by the kingdom, but he didn't think too much into it. He then went to see the professor. He arrived in front of a wooden door with black steel handles. As soon as he touched the door, he felt a electric shock go through him, but it felt strangely comfortable. When he walked inside, he saw a tall man with golden hair, wearing a white robe with blue outlines.
"Ah, you must be Sirius, pleasure to meet you. My name is Ronald Fargen, but you shall call me professor Ron", said the man as he approached to shake Sirius hand.
"Professor Ron, why did you take an interest in me? It must be something really interesting for you to go out of your way to keep me in the main academy."
"The only reason why I am keeping you here is because of you thunder physique. As you can see I am a mage who uses the power of thunder and lightning. So I often do experiments with thunder, but no one can ever a.s.sist me, because they will probably die, but you are different. You have a much greater affinity and resistance to thunder than most people. So I will teach and train you, but in exchange you must help me in my experiments."
"I agree, but I haven't even reached the apprentice tier yet, so I don't know how much help I could provide."
"Do you want to be a mage or a warrior?"
"A mage."
"Then I will help you advance today, but after your advancement, you will help me in a certain experiment right away."
"Okay, but how will you help?"
"I will put a sliver of mana in sea of consciousness, helping you to become an apprentice mage. Are you ready?"
"I am."
Just then Sirius felt a flow of energy enter his body, making its way to his brain. He also felt another, more familiar energy enter his body's core. He then called out his status screen to see what has changed.
