Chapter 2
Chapter 1 – Heaven Wants You to Die, You Have No Choice but to Die
The suburbs of A City was a haven of green hills and clear waters outside of the reinforced concrete jungle. At this moment lightning flashed and thunder roared, electric streaks fell from the heavens, tearing the dark clouds apart, like a large dragon piercing the cloud layer.
Amongst the sounds of thunder, a pet.i.te figure was moving quickly in the middle of the storm at a speed that was unexpectedly even slightly faster than the currents.
If there were people here, they would be able to clearly see that the frenzied lightning seemed as if it had consciousness, unceasingly striking towards that dainty silhouette. As the discharge pa.s.sed by, only shattered stones and split earth remained, just looking at it was especially frightening.
Below the lightning and thunder, Ji Fengyan jumped about. Under its brightness, that exquisitely pretty little face was slightly flushed. Everywhere her figure pa.s.sed was a mess as electric currents left savage cracks below her. It was like the surface of the earth had split apart to reveal a large b.l.o.o.d.y gaping maw, looking as if it would instantly devour someone.
"Little runt, if you have the capabilities then strike me!" The instant Ji Fengyan dodged the Heavenly Lightning, she faced the sky and aggressively stuck up her middle finger.
As the last immortal cultivator of the the twenty-fourth century, Ji Fengyan followed her master in studying immortal cultivation methods since she was little. Today was her final time to undergo this tribulation. Only by completing the Ninety-Nine Heavenly Lightning Tribulation could she relinquish this mortal body of flesh and bones to join the ranks of immortals!
The Ninety-Nine Heavenly Lightning Tribulation was an immortal cultivator’s most important time. Today in modern society, there were already very few that still believed immortal cultivation arts exists in this world. Ji Fengyan had made enough preparations, already completing the ninety-eighth one. She just had to endure the final heavenly lightning and then she could become an immortal!
Thinking of this, Ji Fengyan’s heart truly felt a tiny bit of excitement.
In her lineage, it didn’t matter whether it was her master or ancestral master, both pa.s.sed away during the final Heavenly Lightning Tribulation. Only she had endured until now.
This final heavenly lightning, both thunder and lightning were extremely fierce, shaking the mountains. The cras.h.i.+ng surges of electricity seemed as if it could rend a person’s eardrums. Ji Fengyan held her breath, lifting her eyes to look at the enormous heavenly lightning that was descending from the skies. Her foot was already straining with all its strength. At the moment when the heavenly lightning plummeted, she abruptly mobilized the Jindan inside her body. With all of her dharmic power protecting her body, she leaped up, trying to avoid the the centre radius of the heavenly lightning.
However, at the instant when Ji Fengyan leaped up, from that large high-rise mansion below the mountain, which looked quite st.u.r.dy, suddenly came a roaring explosion. That powerful rupturing sound quickly brought with it an incomparably violent shockwave, which directly surged towards the direction that Ji Fengyan was jumping towards!
Ji Fengyan disbelievingly bulged her eyes wide. As she was in mid-air, she basically had no was to resist the
In the instant that her vision was filled by lightning, from the depths of Ji Fengyan’s soul, she howled towards the heavens.
"Heavenly Dao, screw your uncle! You are freakin’ swindling me!
What kind of experience was being struck by lightning?
It was an agonizing torture that felt as if her body was being cut apart slice by slice with a burning hot sharp blade and placed inside a blazing inferno to roast. That was enough to shatter anyone’s spirit.
As Ji Fengyan was in the darkness, her heart was full of misery and an urge to cry.
She had meticulously planned for two years, all so she could pa.s.s the Heavenly Lightning Tribulation. Unfortunately, she never thought that even though she planned for everything, ruefully did not account for the mansion in the area near the Heavenly Lightning Tribulation to suddenly blow up&h.e.l.lip;
Chapter 2 – Is This the Legendary Soul Reincarnation?
Ji Fengyan thought she was dead.
However&h.e.l.lip;
Why is it that even though she was already throughly dead, there was still a weeping sound brus.h.i.+ng against the edges of her ears?
The sounds of crying in her ears grew even louder. Ji Fengyan unconsciously wanted to open her eyes to look at who exactly would be cared for so much that they would be mourned, but in the instant that she opened her eyes&h.e.l.lip;
Blue skies and white clouds. There was also a muscular man’s face covered in tears and snot.
That muscular man cried fiercely. When Ji Fengyan saw that the intense emotions left his chin covered with tears and snot, ready to drip onto her face, she instantly lifted her hand unconsciously!
Bam!
"M-my&h.e.l.lip; my lady&h.e.l.lip;" Startled, the muscular man that had wept until he was out of breath looked at Ji Fengyan who had slapped him, his eyes filled with astonishment.
Ji Fengyan dazedly widened her eyes. Just a second ago, when she had stretched out her hand, her palm’s sense of touch was so realistic&h.e.l.lip;
"I’m&h.e.l.lip; still alive?" Ji Fengyan softly mumbled with bewilderment.
"My lady! My lady, it’s good that you’re fine! You really should stop scaring your subordinate!" That muscular man sobbed.
Ji Fengyan quickly sat up. Her whole body was filled with a heart-rending lung-splitting severe pan. However, this didn’t make her feel the slightest bit arduous, on the contrary she felt a type of extreme delight!
She really hurt. There was still the feeling of pain?
She didn’t die?!
She was still alive!
Unexpectedly, she survived after being struck by heavenly lightning!
"Hahaha&h.e.l.lip; hahaha&h.e.l.lip;" The delight of having survived this calamity made it difficult for Ji Fengyan to control her laughter. As the muscular man besides her heard her giggling, he was stupefied.
Besides him, a few men wearing armour were somewhat nonplussed. They unconsciously poked the muscular man.
"Captain, did the young lady injure her head?"
"Don’t speak nonsense!" That muscular man was also befuddled, but subconsciously defended Ji Fengyan. Even though he spoke like that, he couldn’t stop himself from having the same thoughts.
How could Ji Fengyan care about what these few fellow’s thoughts were? Knowing that she was still alive, she was so happy that she almost wanted to jump for joy. However, before she could feel the delight of having survived, scene after scene of memories that did belong to her instantly flowed into her mind.
There was a frail and timid little girl. She grew up in a big clan and because of her father’s death, she inherited the treasure he left behind. When she was fourteen, she received the emperor’s decree to head towards a certain city and accept the position of city lord.
The result&h.e.l.lip; dying on the way. Suddenly ambushed, the personal guards this original host’s father left for her died to protect their charge. However, the little girl was severely injured during the fierce battle, already on her last breath. Unexpectedly, when she once again woke up&h.e.l.lip;
Ji Fengyan had arrived.
"Soul reincarnation?" Ji Fengyan slightly widened her eyes.
Did this count as her compensation after being cheated by the Heavenly Dao?
Just when Ji Fengyan was still thinking about human life&h.e.l.lip;
A bolt of lightning descended from the sky. As thunder rumbled, it directly struck the ground, only one step away from Ji Fengyan, leaving a scorching black scar on the surface of the earth.
"Not good! They want to completely exterminate us! You guys, quickly take the young lady and leave!" The muscular leader looked at the intertwined thunder and lightning, raising the heavy sword in his hands and charging forward.
On the slope of the mountain opposite of Ji Fengyan, a group of men wearing black robes were brandis.h.i.+ng the magic staffs in their hands and chanting an incomprehensible arcane incantation. As their collective intonation’s began, bolt after bolt of lightning were summoned forth from the distant sky. They poured down like rainwater, blasting the earth and leaving streak after streak of scorched black furrows that exuded black smoke.
