Chapter 8
That council meeting was not about searching for his missing daughter or should we say his daughter who ran away from home.
There was something more important than that which made him call all council members for an emergency meeting.
"Alpha Tristan, the elders, and the council members just arrived." His right-hand beta informed him.
"Tell them to enter."
The elders and the council members greeted their alpha as soon as they entered the hall.
After giving them a signal, everyone proceeded to their a.s.signed places to sit down.
"I know you are wondering why I call you today. I have some important matters to discuss with you all." Tristan said to them. They just nodded at him.
"Don't worry, this is not about my little girl who ran away from home." He was referring to t.i.tania.
Everyone laughed at his remarks. They knew that Alpha Tristan was just making some jokes to lighten the mood.
All the members of the pack were aware of t.i.tania leaving the pack. They were saddened by the news but they understood her.
They just wished her to be well and they were hoping that nothing bad will happen to her while she was not in the pack.
"Before I proceed to our main agenda this meeting, I just want to ask you first."
"Are you regretting following me here? Since the hunting of werewolves started, I, as a leader of this pack, decided to stay apart from humans."
"Are you not happy that we are living here in secluded places with our own social life?" Alpha Tristan paused after asking them that question. He was waiting for their answers.
Of course, everyone was puzzled why their Alpha was asking them these kinds of questions out of the blue.
"Alpha Tristan, why would we regret something? We are grateful because of your leaders.h.i.+p. You always protected us." One of the Elders shared his thought.
"Following you here was the right choice. We are living well right now. The forests, the mountains, and the hills became our homes. What more we could ask for?" one of the council members answered truthfully.
"I agree with them Alpha, even though we are living apart from humans but there are still members who have direct contact with current civilization while hiding their true nature."
"Most of them serve as teachers of our children. We are still living in a normal way and more peaceful compared before." One member also answered.
"I am really thankful for your understanding." Tristan gave them a grateful glance.
"I know some of you had thought of fighting and killing humans just to avenge our fellow werewolves who died from their hands."
"But because you choose to follow White Claw's Rule, you forget about revenge. Seeking revenge, An eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth, would never end this war."
"We know that Alpha Tristan." They answered
"But there are some werewolves who rebelled. They lived to kill humans especially hunters. One of the examples was the Blood Moon Pack."
Everyone was astonished after hearing Blood Moon Pack. They heard the bad reputation of this pack. Members of this pack became savage, vicious and ruthless.
"What they are doing right now is against our teachings. They just proved to humans that werewolves like us are monsters who deserved to die." Alpha Tristan said with his frustrated voice.
"They succ.u.mb to their hatred. We have to do something to stop this. We need to bring them into the right path. That is the reason why I call everyone here today."
"What are you planning to do, Alpha?" one member asked.
"I want to form a team that will be lead by my son, Travis. I will give a task to this team to communicate with the Blood Moon Pack and convince them to stop what they are doing right now."
That statement gathered different reactions from everyone.
"Alpha, that would be a dangerous task. members of Blood Moon Pack won't listen to anyone." one elder spoke up.
"I agree with that, what if the group of Travis will be attacked by them because they won't agree to them." one member also shared her concern about this plan.
"You are also putting your son, our next leader, in danger." one elder disapproved that idea.
"I know this is a dangerous job, that is why I am a.s.signing this to my son. We need to do something. This is for the sake of all our kinds." Tristan said as he tried to appease the other members.
"I want to do it," Travis said as he entered the hall. He heard everything from outside. He wanted to help his father to convince the council.
"Give us good reasons that will a.s.sure us that nothing bad will happen to you? Travis... you are the next leader of this pack. We could not afford to lose you." one elder said with her worried and serious voice.
Travis gave them a rea.s.suring smile before he spoke up.
"Blood Moon Pack will not hurt me right away because I know someone from that pack."
"What are you trying to say?"
"Dylan Davis... my best friend, the son of the leader of the Lock Heart Pack, he became a member of Moon Blood Pack, a year after his parents died."
Everyone gasped in surprise because of that revelation. The missing Alpha of the Lock Heart Pack became a member of the ruthless and vicious Moon Blood Pack.
White Claw Pack and Lock Heart Pack were an allied pack.
But most of the Lock Heart Pack were killed during the hunting, including Dylan's parents.
After losing their leaders, some members of Lock Heart Pack now became members of White Claw Pack.
Some of them were glad to hear that Dylan was still alive. He went missing for 7 years and no one knew about his whereabouts.
"So you don't have to worry. We will just talk to them and not fight them. I knew Dylan. He won't hurt a friend. So please agree with my father's suggestion." Travis tried to convince them.
"Besides, I want to bring back Dylan to us. Lock Heart Pack will rise again. We need to bring back here the leader of Lock Heart. Do you agree with me?"
Tristan proudly looked at his son. He really knew how to talk, as expected to the next leader of White Claw Pack.
After deliberating for a long time, everyone came up with one decision. They approved Alpha Tristan's plan.
It was all thanks to Travis. He successfully convinced the Elders and the council. He easily gained their trust. He would really be a great leader someday.
Soon, the meeting was adjourned. Everyone left the hall, only Travis and Tristan remained.
They took that chance to have a father and son conversation.
"I am proud of you son." Tristan held his son's shoulder.
"Thanks, Dad, remember like father like son," Travis said as he let out a soft chuckle.
But the smile on his face immediately disappeared when he remembered t.i.tania.
"Dad... I was too late." Travis said with a grim expression on his handsome face.
"Why, tell me. Your father is here to listen." Tristan said as he urged him to speak.
"I promise t.i.tania that when I got a piece of news about Dylan, I will tell her first."
"But she is not here. I am too late. I know she will be glad to hear that Dylan is alive. Well... she always believes that he is alive." Travis smiled faintly from that thought.
"Don't worry son. Let the time decide, I am sure t.i.tania and Dylan will meet again. So you should focus on convincing Dylan to come back to us."
"Yes, Alpha. I will make sure to bring him back here. t.i.tania needs a friend, t.i.tania needs Dylan."
"Alright, starting tomorrow we will select other members of your team. Everyone needs to train in case a fight will not be avoided."
"We must still ensure your safety. Dylan is a friend. But we don't know what other members of Blood Moon Pack might do. Some say they are very treacherous kinds of werewolves."
"I understand Dad. We will double our intense training." Travis was so determined.
't.i.tania, please be safe wherever you are now. I hope that by the time you return, Dylan will also be here.'
