The Buggiest System

Chapter 74

"Sir, our site's traffic drastically went up!" An employee excitedly informed his superior.

"Eh? Why?" The superior asked back with a confused face.

"Sir, it's like this. The most popular webnovel right now, just released 215 new chapters." The employee said with patience.

"Oh, so it's just a ma.s.s release..." The superior was calm.

"Wait, what?! 215 chapters?" He quickly realized that something was amiss with the other party's words.

"Yes, sir. He probably had a stockpile and decided to dump every single one," the employee said.

"Hey, come here!" At this moment, someone else called the employee back. He pointed at the monitor as the employee's eyes widened.

The superior saw this and was curious. He headed there as well.

The employee was speechless as he saw what was written on the monitor. "Th- the site traffic... there's too much!"

While walking over, the superior heard the employee and said, "Isn't that good?"

"In normal cases, yes. However, I don't think our servers will be able to handle this much traffic..." The employee said in a pessimistic voice.

"Don't be silly. Our servers are top notch, they won't crash that easily!" The superior answered in an attempt to cheer up the employee.

The person operating the computer suddenly exclaimed, "Another spike in traffic! At this rate..."

"Ah, we're doomed!" The employee's eyes drooped as his expression darkened.

"Isn't there back-up servers in case our current one crashed?" The superior asked.

"Yeah, but I don't think that they would hold up that well..." The employee answered his superior.

"Hmm, then that'd be a problem... Notify me when it crashes." The superior said as he walked back to his office.

The employee then returned to watching their site traffic spike every now and then, until...

"Ahh! This spike, it's too f**king high!" The employee couldn't help but curse as he saw the number on the screen rise up further and further.

The two employees eyes widened as they watched the number go up, getting closer to the limit!

Another spike!

Then another one!

Then, it stopped.

Just before it reached the threshold, it stopped getting higher.

"Phew...!" The employee wiped the sweat that acc.u.mulated on his forehead just from watching the intense sudden rise of the

He walked out and was about to inform his superior that the site did not crash, as the traffic began going down again.

However, he saw his superior inside the room where the server hardwares were. He was sipping a cup of coffee as he inspected the small machines.

How did these small bad boys hold up against that much traffic?

"Sir!" The employee shouted.

"Ah!" The superior was startled by the sudden loud noise!

The cup he was holding slipped from his fingers!

The hot liquid inside started spilling out of the cup as it fell down!

"No...!" The employee ran towards where his superior was as fast as he could. Meanwhile, his superior tried to catch the cup.

His hand that attempted to grab the cup only ended up pus.h.i.+ng it more towards the small machines, where the cofee ended up splas.h.i.+ng all over.

Tsss...

The sound made the two stop. They knew what that entailed.

The man that was monitoring the site traffic screamed, "Ah! The servers crashed!"

The employee and his superior looked at each other in the eye, before they turned around and walked away, slowly...

The one server that was fried turned off, but the cup of coffee actually fell onto the extension cord, which made every single one of the servers turn off.

.....

A teacher in cla.s.s used a projector to project the site on the whiteboard as she discussed sentence structure with her students, while also reading the story for her entertainment.

The students seemed to have no problem with that.

"Okay, next chapter. Mr. Rightnexttomylaptop, can you please click on the b.u.t.ton?" The teacher said.

The student right next to the teacher's laptop started getting laughed at by his newly given nickname.

He clicked on the b.u.t.ton, and the site started loading. As that was happening, the students started discussing amongst themselves about the novel, while the teacher erased her writings.

After a minute.

The site was still loading.

"Hmm? You, can you click refresh?" The teacher instructed someone as the students didn't notice that a minute had pa.s.sed.

Clicking refresh, the site started loading again... until a screen appeared.

[Error 500 - Site Crash

"Eh...?"

.....

MegaHard Inc.

The stock prices were still falling!

However, no one cared.

Bill Gatekeeper waited for the next chapter to load. He hadn't thought of downloading them since he had internet in his place anyway.

"Eh... it's taking so long." He complained as he leaned his head on his hand.

Hearing this, the shareholders shared the same sentiment as him. They too were waiting for the next chapter to load.

"Ah!" Bill Gatekeeper saw that the throbber finally disappeared from his phone. He looked at it with excitement in his eyes, before they turned into one of dumbfoundedness.

[Error 500 - Site Crash

All of the other shareholders saw the same thing on their phones... except one.

He had downloaded the rest of the chapters! He tapped on it accidentally... so it seems that it was a lucky fortune!

The other shareholders eyed him mercilessly...

"We're brothers, right...?," Bill Gatekeeper said as he stood up and walked towards him with a smile on his face.

The happiness suddenly disappeared as he said, "Let me read."

The shareholder was scared to his core! He was so startled that he dropped his phone.

The room turned into a jungle.

Every man for himself.

The phone was the prey.

They were the predators.

.....

"Eh? Sir, what site crash?" The secretary asked.

"That mean they attack site! Need to save." Vladimir Putout answered as he stood up angrily.

"Eh, who attack site? TCC!" The secretary widened his eyes in response.

"Get ready for war!" Vladimir put on his suit as he walked out of the door with a serious expression.
