Chapter 44
"Wh- where am I?" Zhou Lei got worried as he looked around him.
He moved his head around, causing the books covering his vision to fall down on the floor. Zhou Lei could now see his surroundings more clearly.
"Hmm?" Zhou Lei stood up as he looked down. There, he saw... about 20 or so books.
"Huh? This is much fewer than I thought..."
As he looked around, he eventually saw the book that he originally retrieved from his inventory, the Master Author Book.
"I should organize these first, and absorb later."
.....
As soon as she removed her shoes, Zhou Zhenya ran towards her brother's room. She was really curious as to what he was doing.
By now, Zhou Xiang and Zhou Jiahao had already guessed what might be happening inside their son's room.
"Wait, Little Ya, stop!" Zhou Jiahao exclaimed as he tried to keep his son from destroying his sister's innocence.
"Let me look first!" Zhou Zhenya stopped for a second, then resumed running again.
'Ah, that little b.a.s.t.a.r.d Lei, staining his sister!' Zhou Jiahao spoke regretfully. He cursed at his son in his mind.
Zhou Xiang, however, did not take any action to stop her daughter from seeing her son... doing it. That was because she believed that they already went one step further...
Zhou Zhenya already arrived at the door to her brother's room.
"Bro, hey!" Zhou Zhenya shouted before abruptly opening the door.
"Ah, s**t!"
The same voice that gave
The door was now opened, and Zhou Zhenya saw her brother... lying on the floor, pus.h.i.+ng thin air...
"What are you doing?" Zhou Zhenya asked her brother.
Zhou Jiahao heard his daughter ask this question, and shook his head as if waiting for his son to explain himself.
Zhou Xiang, on the other hand, remained motionless.
"I, umm... th- this is, uh..." Zhou Lei stumbled with his words. How could he possibly explain the books in his room, especially those ones with the shady t.i.tles?
Zhou Jiahao heard his son stuttering and continued to shake his head as if he had expected this outcome.
Suddenly, Zhou Zhenya walked into the room.
"Wait, don't step on them!" Zhou Lei hurriedly uttered as he pushed the books to the side to avoid his sister's feet.
Once Zhou Jiahao heard the words that his son spoke, he stopped shaking his head.
'St- step on them? Wh- what do you mean? Are you saying... that Little Ya is stepping on it?!' Zhou Jiahao was shocked.
Zhou Xiang was shocked as well, although for a different reason. 'So... Lei has THAT kind of fetish, eh?'
Oblivious to her parents' thoughts, Zhou Zhenya ignored her brother's words as she continued to walk into the room.
Zhou Lei was relieved. He had pushed the books away on time. Who knew what would happen if his sister stepped on them? It was better to be safe than sorry, after all.
But then, he saw... a book on the floor. It was the "How to Be Smart for Dummies" book. It was left behind while Zhou Lei hastily pushed the books out of the way.
Zhou Zhenya's foot was already about to step on it.
'Wait, no!' Zhou Lei tried to reach for it.
However, something unexpected happened. His sister's foot... went straight through it!
'Wh- what?'
The book then disintegrated.
"Ah, no! No!" Zhou Lei looked at the disintegrating book in despair. It was as if the book was saying 'I don't feel so good...'
Zhou Xiang and Zhou Jiahao both heard their son's screams of pain.
