The Alley Man

Chapter 1

The path home is never crowded but never empty. It was a nice and calming walk home. It was unusual that tonight it was empty.

Sure, there were the occasional person pa.s.sing but it was as if I was not informed of something. It doesn't matter. I just need to go home, eat, shower and sleep.

The only sounds that could be heard were the rustling trees in the cold Autumn wind and the distant car noises.

As I approached the corner of the path, I hear a m.u.f.fled scream coming from the alleyway. My adrenalin kicked in. I wanted to run away but I was intrigued by what could be going on around the corner. Minutes pa.s.s since I heard the m.u.f.fled screaming. I heard some footsteps approaching me from the alleyway.

I jumped behind some trash cans. Two macho dudes walkout from the darkened alley with smirks on their faces. I decided to wait for about 5 minutes just in case. I slowly creep into the dark alley.

There was a strong smell of garbage and another scent I didn't recognize. I took out my phone from my back pocket and turned on the flashlight. Nothing looked out of the ordinary, just bags of trash stuck against the base of the wall.

The inexplicable smell was getting stronger and stronger. I pointed the flashlight to the ground to make sure I don't accidentally step on some s.h.i.+t or rotten fruit. I take a few more steps forward until I notice a female mannequin's leg sticking out from a pile of garbage bags. I took a closer look. I started vomiting uncontrollably.

At that moment I realized that the mannequin leg isn't a mannequin leg but is actually a real skin and flesh. The stench was thick and powerful. I was getting dizzy. I couldn't stop myself from vomiting. My mouth felt as if it was melting. It was until a second ago it stopped. Along with my life.
