Chapter 9
"Hahahahahahhaha," Regan hunched over in a fit of laughter, "so?" She immediately cut her laughter short and locked eyes with Bella.
"Sure you treasure me, but I don't care, you know too much," Regan frowned, "when the time comes you will eventually sacrifice me for a better future and I won't be much of a treasure behind bars huh."
Bella s.h.i.+vered. She had been so wrong, not only had she completely misunderstood the situation but she had sheltered a killer. s.h.i.+t slowly she pulled out her phone behind her back and pressed the recording app and began recording.
"Did you even have amnesia at all?" Bella asked, "was it all a lie?"
"Guess," Regan grinned, "besides, that doesn't matter anymore."
"You're… a monster," Bella stammered, her legs were barely able to keep her standing as she continued to back away from Regan.
"Why thank you," Regan chuckled, "but at least this monster is a lot smarter than you think."
"What do you-" Bella began.
"Oh, don't play coy, you're gonna be dead soon anyways,"
"You're…"
"Yes," Regan growled, "now shut up and run, might as well play a little game."
Bella turned immediately and sprinted away from Regan. Her feet ran as fast as they could into the forest, the faster she ran the deeper in the got. But yet no matter how fast she ran the thumps of the metal rod hitting the tree seemed to get closer. Just a bit more and I'll make it- Bella tripped over a rock and fell to the floor with a slam. Tap tap tap tap.
"Are you enjoying this?" Regan smiled her eyes widening with pure glee and her smile spreading further across her face, "isn't it so exciting?! The pure fear running through your veins clawing at your mind, hindering your senses."
Tears ran down Bella's face.
"The louding thumping in your ears as you meet face to face with death," Regan snickered.
"You're a monster!! A psychopath," Bella shrieked. She grabbed sand and gra.s.s off the ground and hurled them at Regan.
Regan brushed the sand off her, "but then again, it might be only me that will be enjoying this."
