Chapter 40

"Even if I was, I would never admit it. You'd find a way to feed off that too," Gradis sighed.

Mr. Cloud let out an empty laugh, "Don't be so harsh in front of our guest, you'll scare him away."

Gradis rolled her eyes, "where is the plan?"

Mr. Cloud looked at the bodyguard standing next to the computer and gave a slight nod. Immediately the bodyguard reached behind the computer and pulled out a black folder, placing it in front of the computer where Gradis could see it.

"I retouched it and added some points after going through the other company's background, and found many things you might want to take into consideration when making the next step," Mr. Cloud smiled, "afterall, there won't be any second shot after our first move."

"I know, that's why everything needs to be perfect," Gradis muttered a reply while she flipped through the papers. She sped read through the papers and then slid them back into the folder, staring at its black covers, "I've had too many losses and come too

Mr. Cloud stared at Gradis with a weird look in his eyes then gave another smile, his eyes blank but lips smiling, "of course, not to mention all the resources that would be lost on my side. We have no choice but to do this right? Plus…" Mr. Cloud looked away from Gradis and grabbed something from in front of him and waved it in front of the camera, "our chance is coming right now."

Gradis looked squarely at the paper,' her eyes narrowing, "is that what I think it is?"

"Yup, an invite to the company," Mr. Cloud grinned

"You received this? How?" Gradis' eyes widened, leaning in closer to the computer. Her chance had finally come, this was her ticket, this was it.

"Calm down," Mr. Cloud sighed, "don't be too hasty. We only have a few things planned and have a long way to go. The companies are gathering that day and it's a great time for us to gather as much information as we could about them."

"Yea I know," Gradis muttered gripping the sides of the envelope, "every one of their histories is like clean slates wiped every month of their sins."

"Heh, you make it sound like we're saints," Mr. Cloud chuckled, "do you know how many records I've cleaned for you? I may as well become your janitor."

Gradis frowned.

"Besides I heard you recently took care of one by yourself," Mr. Cloud giggled, "first time getting one done huh?"

Getting one done? The phrase caught Damien's ears and he turned to look at Gradis.

"Damien, do you mind leaving us alone?" Gradis growled, keeping a sharp glare on Mr. Cloud, "this is something we need to solve yourself."

Damien nodded and stood up from his seat, reluctantly walking to the door and opening it. He turned back for a moment, locking eyes with Gradis, then stepped out of the room and into the quiet hallway, the door closing slowly behind him.
