Chapter 3
On the bed, Nessie covers her ears and closes her eyes. She chants with a low voice. "This is a dream. This is a dream. This is a dream…"
Seven foot tall dogs in military uniform do not exist. Unless this is a dream, this situation cannot be explained. She can accept a d.i.c.k. She can accept transmigration. How can she accept the d.a.m.n dog-man outside the door?
"Linus." She hears the furious warning. "If you do not open the door, I will break it down."
It's too real to be a dream. Nessie feels like crying. There's no way that seven foot dog-men can exist on planet earth. She transmigrated into the body of a man who is the resident of another world. She doesn't even have the legendary cheat.
Before Nessie can come to terms with her situation, the door is kicked open by the dogman. Nessie pales when the dogman walks into the room with a feral look in his round black eyes. Beads of sweat form on her forehead. Her mouth turns dry. She recalls how she was bitten by a dog when she was in elementary school. The dogman is her nightmare coming to life.
She doesn't have cynophobia. No, she doesn't. Okay, maybe a little.
To make the matter worse, the breed of the dogman is the same as the one that had bitten her. It's a black Dobermann in military uniform with three stars. This can't get more ridiculous.
The Dobermann sniffs the air mixed with the scent of obvious fear oozing from Linus' body, the spilt wine on the floor near the corner of the bed, and the scent of a woman. Why is this degenerate mage afraid of him all of a sudden? This mage will sleep with anyone with a hole. He must have done something even worse if he's showing fear. "Linus, what did you do this time?"
What did she do this time? Wait! Is Linus the name of this body? Nessie furrows her brows. Her name is Nessie Linus. Is this a coincidence or the transmigration department confused their ident.i.ties? Where can she file a complaint? She doesn't want to be in a world where dogs can talk.
"Answer me, you--" The dogman closes his mouth when Nessie stared at him. The mage's mismatched eyes are unnerving. This is not an ordinary person. Still, he isn't one of those who is afraid of this a.r.s.ehole. He speaks with an accusatory frown, "Are you not going to take the lecture?"
Lecture? Nessie ignores the adrenaline rus.h.i.+ng through her veins due to her cynophobia. It's already a feat that she didn't pa.s.s out. Like a student who
"Linus, how many excuses are you going to make?" The dogman growls at him. "Do you want me to believe that a legendary mage like you can't concoct a potion for your stomach due to excess intake of wine? You have a responsibility to your students. Have you ever thought about what kind of impression your actions give to the students? This is a military academy. We are raising the future warriors of this country."
Now, Nessie knows what it is like to be scolded by a dog.
"Either you go to the lecture or I will complain about you to the higher-ups." The dogman glowers at her.
d.a.m.n it! She just came to this world. How can she take a lecture? But, she needs to know more about this world and this body if she wants to survive. In any case, she can't reveal that she isn't the legendary mage Linus. It would have been better if she transmigrated into the body of a n.o.body.
She needs to get away from this dogman first. Nessie smiles at the dogman. "Do-- Mister, I understand. I will take the lecture."
"Don't think that you can do --" The dogman blinks his eyes. His pointed ears twitch. Did this mage use a polite tone? "As long as you understand."
Nessie gives him a nod and takes long confident strides out of the room with a smiling face. She has no idea where she is going.
"Linus!" The dogman barks at her.
Swallowing her saliva, she turns around. The dogman points in the other direction. "Are you still drunk? The cla.s.s is this way."
"Haha…" Nessie runs her fingers through her rough crimson hair. She gives him a slight bow and scurries past him in the direction his paw is still pointing at.
Watching Linus almost running away from him, the dogman narrows his eyes with doubts in his eyes. He's sure now. The mage has done something wrong. He must sniff it out.
While she's walking through the corridor with smooth white walls, young boys and girls in plain khaki uniforms stop when they see her and bow to her with fear and respect in their eyes. What kind of man was Linus? Nessie creases her forehead. All the incidents speak a lot about this mage. So far, she doesn't have a good impression of this man.
She reaches the end of the corridor. Should she go right or left? Where's the cla.s.sroom anyway? She doesn't see anyone. Then, it's odd to ask directions to the cla.s.s. They will find out that something is wrong with this body.
Should she run away from this place? Then, where's the exit?
"Teacher Linus, why are you still here?" Nessie looks at the woman with long violet hair and silver eyes. The woman is holding a roster in her hand. Why didn't she hear her approach? The woman scowls at her. "Are you planning to skip the lecture today? You should take care of your students. Your unruly students always run out of the cla.s.sroom when you miss the lectures and pick on my students. It's a pity that a legendary mage like you can't even discipline your students well."
"..." Why is she getting scolded by a stranger? Nessie already knows the answer, but she can't help but feel like she's been wronged. With no cheat, she has the ident.i.ty of a legendary mage who sleeps with his student and teaches wayward students.
The woman doesn't wait for Linus to answer. She doesn't want to waste her breath talking to a man who is also well known for his perverted ways. She takes hurried steps toward her cla.s.sroom.
Despite her reluctance, Nessie follows the woman. It's a guess, but the woman must be from the neighbourhood cla.s.sroom. As she pa.s.ses by the cla.s.srooms, she takes a peek. All of them have a teacher in the cla.s.s.
"Hmph!" The woman halts in her tracks in front of the last cla.s.sroom and scoffs at Nessie. "Teacher Linus, I hope that you can keep your students in line."
Before Nessie could reply, the woman walks into her cla.s.sroom. Nessie looks ahead and sees a few students standing outside the last cla.s.sroom and leaning against the wall with goofy smiles. When they see Nessie, their expressions change. They dash into the cla.s.sroom right away.
That one must be her cla.s.sroom then.
