Chapter 403
The three girls all come down with grumbling stomachs before scarfing the food down like little starving ghosts.
"So what's the plan for the day?" Jill asks with a full mouth.
"I was thinking of doing a supply run with the helicopter and a few people we are in dangerous need of weapons and ammo and vehicles. I spent a vast amount yesterday on supplies and we are running out of materials at an insane rate." I say bringing up the blue menu and showing them the low supplies.
"And where do you plan to go for supplies?" Alice asks.
"I don't know the location of any umbrella safe houses or bunkers so the next best thing would be military sites." I explain.
"Okay so who all is going with you?" Alice asks me with hopeful eyes.
"Fine you can come along Jill do you mind staying here with Angela?" I notice their bitter faces as I'm sure they both want to go.
"You can come along for the next trip as we are going to just clear out the area and get things set up for transport." I tell them with a smile.
"Fine but I'm going with next time." Jill says with a huff going back to breakfast.
I just laugh.
I finish up breakfast before making my way to what appears to be an operations room.
I sit down at the big table as everyone turns to me. I unfurl a map I've been carrying onto the table.
"Here is the closest military base to ours. Right now we lack ammo and guns, military vehicles, in truth we pretty much are f.u.c.ked on everything and are running on bare minimums. I want to take the chopper and start a sweep to see what we find and if there's anything we can loot. Now this could potentially be a spot for survivors or a spot for thugs or even just barren as people might have tried to loot it. The people going will be me, Alice, the pilot, demolitions, a tech guy and whoever can fire a gun and drive so 5 more people that's all the chopper can carry I want the guns on the chopper loaded as we will be doing some aerial killing to knock down numbers I don't want the chopper even touching the ground so we will be rappelling down." I start making plans and people get into motion.
Gear is handed out coms linked up and people chosen.
15 minutes later we are in the air headed to the military base.
"Techie I want electronic doors open and a map of the interior I don't want to be running
"Demo any door he can't open I want you to blow open however I'm pretty sure we might have to blow open an armory so make sure to save some boom for that." another affirmative.
"I want to make some noise above the base and draw out as many as we can then mow them down with the chopper gunners. one more dead is one less we have to worry about." I say.
"Sir arrival in 1 minute." the pilots voice comes over the mic.
"Your heard the man start getting strapped in for descent." I really hate heights man.
The military base comes into view and we see the fences have been breached by vehicles there's still tons of military vehicles parked. Which is a good sign there's a small chunk of zombies roaming around which quickly start sprinting towards our direction circling underneath with more running out from behind vehicles or buildings.
We float in place for a while before the sound of guns blazing to life and bullets splitting the air can be heard.
After a few minutes the sound cuts off and all that's left are zombie chunks under us. the pilot moves over so we can get a better landing spot.
Soon everyone but the pilot and a gunner are roping down to the ground. We make landfall and rush towards the building looking for any type of wires we can cut into.
We find a security lock on the main door and our tech guy slices into it. most military bases have back up generators for emergencies. A few moments later we have camera control, information about the floors, and access to door locks.
Bad news is that the whole base is flooded with zombies zero survivors. Good news is there's a loading bay in the back with an elevator we can get access too and skip all this s.h.i.+t.
We quietly move towards that area as he hacks into the elevator controls. The elevator is loud as s.h.i.+t. We have to kill a small chunk of zombies who had been held up in the armory probably not having the codes to start the elevator. The doors are all sealed so once these are done we can be worry free.
We locate keys to the fork lifts and cargo trucks. Some head outside to move the cargo trucks closer and some start loading up ma.s.sive crates of weapons while the helicopter does overwatch for us.
Soon the chopper has to leave for fuel we have the gunner join us down on the ground as we can use another driver.
About 30 minutes later the chopper is back with more people swinging down to give us a hand.
We take everything that isn't nailed down and some things that are. You think I'm leaving behind automated turrets you can eat my a.s.s. only reason we didn't get killed by them is because they are out of ammo.
Crates of guns, explosives, rations, Kevlar vests, bullets, we even load up 2, 6 wheeled armored trucks stuffing things in the seats for extra loots. We have anti air missile launchers and I found a delicious beauty hidden under a tarp.
A ma.s.sive brown tank. I quickly wipe away my drool and hop on top of it opening the hatch and making sure there's no one inside before climbing on in. Only to realize I have no f.u.c.king idea how to use it.
"Hey who knows how to drive a tank we are f.u.c.king taking this back too." I shout popping out in dissapointment.
"Me sir." one of the soldiers says raising his hand. "Good drive this baby back before us and clear a path."
"Yes sir." he says before excitedly climbing in and a minute later it roars to life before driving off right through the ma.s.sive gate clearing a nice path.
"Ah we should have put stuff inside it." I sigh.
A few hours later 16 over stocked cargo trucks roll out from the base with a helicopter flying above it. It's a decent drive back but it's mostly quiet.
We make it back to the base and see just a ma.s.sive pile of dead zombies in front of the base apparently they chased the tank all the way back only to be cleansed here.
With a quick check from the guards we are let inside as soldiers start unloading vehicles and the managers start getting inventory.
"I want these turrets mounted up on the walls near the gates I want them off incase of emergencies I don't want us wasting ammo on zombies." I shout out orders.
"After these are unloaded get about 20 people and load up into a truck and head back and keep stocking up on supplies and vehicles make sure there's always a soldier who has been there before to give directions." I tell them.
"Yes sir!" they shout.
I start using my weird hand to grab crates off the truck and help out as its much easier for me it's kind of like a claw machine.
"I want those anti air rockets covered up umbrella has satellites that can see us I don't want them to learn more than they have to." I say to some of the soldiers who nod before finding which tarp the anti air missile launchers are under and unloading them keeping them hidden.
"Have the vehicles checked out and refueled by the maintenance guys I don't want anyone to suddenly break down or run out of gas during a run." I tell the manager who jots it down.
