Chapter 2288 – Month

Chapter 2288 – Month

A month had since I had taken over the command of Argan fortress, and everything had been going strange for me.

The Grimms who were supposed to fight me constantly are avoiding me. I had fought against the Cheetaman two times only, and no other Grimm Fortress had attacked me.

I had attacked Cheetaman and other Grimm Forts, but they just defended from inside, and when I moved my army to fight in existing battle, they would just retreat.

If I had been a little dumb, I would have thought they were scared of me, but I am not that dumb. It is clearly a mind game to frustrate me, force me to make a mistake, and then strike me at the ripest time.

They have done this many times against many talented powerhouses. It is a great strategy for people like us. People who grow with each battle, the more we fight, the stronger we will become.

People dug deeper into their Inheritance; the bloodlines evolved under strain, and I grew stronger with every bloodline essence I consumed, which I could only get from the Grimm Monsters.

It is not the only way for me to get stronger but the fastest way I have, not to mention it offers double benefits such as growing the resourcing inside me at an extremely fast speed; it could be said that Grimms are essential for me.

I have been exploring other ways to get the Grimms with bloodline while also keeping my eyes on the five Grimms in front of me. I can’t let myself fall into whatever trap they are spreading for me.

Currently, I am in the command center, watching the battle through Nero’s eyes, I wanted to join the battle so badly, but I know they will retreat, and I am not strong enough to stop the retreat.

I could play dirty by killing those of lower levels, but it will have unintended consequences which I am not ready to bear.

So, I released my seed through Nero and also asked most commanders of two adjacent fortresses to let some of my Tyrants fight in their battle. It was quite a hard negotiation, and those two bastards have squeezed quite a lot of benefits from me.

Ida and Camphor are fighting the battles currently, and I have

Especially Camphor, who had just transformed in this past month. As she got access to more pathways, her power exploded; it also helped that her veins have become nearly perfect, with me healing all the damage her veins have suffered since she began to practice.

With continued sessions, every five days, 75% of her blockages have opened, and it won’t be long before I opened the last 25% of them.

When that happens, she will receive the greatest boost of her life, and many changes will occur in her. I can’t wait for that, as it will help me collect an immense amount of data from the veins.

Aside from these two, I have also created the collective solution according to every Tyrant’s need and also selected one hundred and ninety-two most talented Emperors. It had been two weeks since the project began, and 50% of sponsored by the Pyramid.

The last 50% on me; is something Pyramid had imposed, so I would not waste their resources on frivolous projects.

The 50% resources are quite a heavy burden; thankfully, I will get what I spent after a month.

The data had been more than promising, and according to condition, if I am able to give them a certain level of advancement, they will give me back all the resources I had spent on the project and fund it fully after that.

The data I had been getting from these projects of mine are immense. I am even feeling grateful for Grimms to have given me so much free time.

I am also making fast progress on my Inheritance, and research on other topics has been going well. I had even made a breakthrough in some projects that helped me make better solutions for the Emperors and Tyrants.

Even now, my avatar is constantly working while I watch the battle, which is going great; even Grandmaster Oak had gained the advantage over the Grimm Grandmaster he is fighting against.

I really wish that he would be able to kill the Grimm Grandmaster, but I know that is just wishful thinking on my part.

Unless Grandmaster Oak could bring out a very powerful move, it would be very hard for him to kill the Grimm Grandmaster despite having the edge. As the Grimm Monster he is fighting against have quite good defensive abilities.

The battle progressed, and more and more powerful moves began to appear from the battlefield. Even at such a great distance, I could see the sky lighting every few seconds.

Around two hours passed by when the battle was finished, and as I had guessed, despite having an edge, Grandmaster Oak was not able to kill his enemy or even bring a great injury.

For other people, it is quite hard to kill an enemy with strong defensive powers; they can not just wrap their strings around them sneakily and suck them inside their core like me. I thought before shaking my head and sighing.

The Grimms bastards have been very careful; not only Cheetaman but others also have spatial artifacts, they have hidden it very well, but Nero was able to detect them on their bodies.

Well, no worries, I am extremely close to finding a way to meld into this spatial defense of theirs; I would need a couple of days before I find it. So, they should attack me before that, as after, I will surely get those bastards.

Chew Chew!

I was watching the retreating army when Ashlyn’s voice rang out through our link; it felt slightly distant because she was, and she had finally found what she had been searching for the last fifteen days.

"Edvin, you are in command," I said as I walked out of the command center.. They may think I am going to my quarters to rest, but they are very wrong, as I am going to out hunt the prey that Ashlyn had just found me.
