70 Night Clash Part 2
Even though they have slaughtered greater numbers than their own numbers in total. They were stepping the dead bodies as they slew one after another. The night was full of blood where they step on. The weather became cloudy and the s.h.i.+ning light of the moon has vanished. The weather has become worse as thundering clouds roared the night sky.
While they were fighting, the rain poured and it was pitch black. The only light they have were the light of the lightning. They clashed like blind men in the darkness. Kael devised a contingency plan and Maledic released the floating lights that their Lord Mael personally invented.
Hundreds of floating lights were floating on the battlefield. It illuminated them as well as the enemies. It will lead to them being in the spotlight not knowing where the enemy was. But it was their only option for now. The army felt calmer in the midst of the storm. The rain poured heavier as they clashed with the enemies.
They saw arrows in the sky when it thunders. Arrows rained towards them. Kael saw it and he yelled,
"s.h.i.+elds up!"
The army then lifted their s.h.i.+elds.
Clang! Clang! Clang! Clang!
Tugug!
Roared the thunder as it produced flickering light in the night sky.
Kael shouted to the army to ease their feeling. Being in that situation was really fear-inducing. The soldiers were on edge and their leader was their source of hope for the battle.
"Don't lose hope! We will win this fight! Believe in yourselves!", he shouted to them.
The
The spearmen in the front were still bas.h.i.+ng and rapidly thrusts the enemies. Their enemies that have fallen from their attacks were the ones they were stepping on. They were surrounded by the enemies to the sides and as well as in the back. The s.h.i.+elders were bas.h.i.+ng them, making their enemies thrown a bit.
Their formation was still not breeched and even with the help of their armors, they still felt exhausted. Continuing it until the morning was really tiresome.
The s.h.i.+elders were pus.h.i.+ng the enemies that were charging at them. Even they were not giving great damage, they can stun the enemy and deal with small blunt damage. The swordsmen in the sides were slas.h.i.+ng and thrusting their swords to the enemies. The archers were blinded but they all fired when they saw the enemies when the lightning lighted up the skies.
"Three consecutive shots! Fire!", shouted Maledic.
The fight lasted for hours and the slow stamina regeneration can't keep up with their exhausted body. They were on the verge of giving up.
The enemies rushed and they were at the center of the fray. All enemies were surrounding them. The spearmen were on the verge of collapsing their formation.
"Hold the line!", shouted Kael.
The enemies then breeched the spearmen's frontal formation. The daggers and the chains immediately rushed to the enemies. Executing the ones who dared to enter their formation. The formation was down and it was a brawl that happened.
"s.h.i.+elders! Cover the ones who will be attacked!", Kael shouted.
Immediately, they heard his command.
The enemy wants to slash the one who uses daggers but he was s.h.i.+eld charged by the s.h.i.+elders. It was utter chaos but they were covering each other's backs. Leaving no one injured. Kael was also using his daggers and he a.s.sa.s.sinates enemies who were showing their back to him. He thrusts his dagger in their necks and he was immediately covered by s.h.i.+elders when someone attacks him.
"Thanks! But it was unneeded!", He said to them.
They replied with a nod and proceeded to protect others.
The swordmen were butchering the enemies. Slaying them was just like easier than confronting Maledic. They were forged with the best materials and they were the ones who were the result. The daggers men were digging their thrusts to the enemy's armors. The enemy attacks barely even made a scratch to their armor. They were cautious not to make a scratch to their considered a family heirloom's armor set and weapons.
They clashed with the enemies that night until their last ounce of strength. The enemy's commanders were atop the hill of Golden mountain. Watching from the top, they saw that their enemies were not even annihilated by a single one.
"What's wrong with this army!? You can't even annihilate a few hundred enemies?", he said to the cavalry unit.
They saw that the enemies were still alive and standing.
