Chapter 76
She tightened her arms around his neck, still wearing a faint smile on her lips. She didn't dare look at Si Weimin, afraid that he might tease her again.
Seeing that he was heading to her apartment, she suddenly panicked. She remembered that she left Li Yun with Shen Linqin before she went looking for Si Weimin. Li Yun might still be there in her apartment. She never heard any ambulance so it was more likely that he was still there.
Afraid that the two might clash again, she took away her arms around Si Weimin's neck before she looked up at him as she spoke, "Weimin-ge, just drop me here. I can walk from here."
A brief change in Si Weimin's expressions made Xu Jia Li s.h.i.+vered. A hint of pain slightly flashed his eyes before it was replaced by the coldness he usually had. He frowned for a second then he smiled meekly before he responded in a low but firm voice, "I'll not stay. I'll just want to make sure that you'll be okay and will not be hurt. I can't allow you to walk."
'Why is he acting like that all of a sudden? Where's the childish Si Weimin who just teased me a while back? Is he mad?' Xu Jia Li muttered to herself before she looked at him and said,
"I just don't want you to argue with Yun-ge again. He's still in my apartment so you should not see each other tonight."
"Why is he still there?"
Seeing the frown on his face, she explained, "Because he's hurt and the ambulance still isn't here to take him to the hospital. That's why."
Without saying another word, Si Weimin turned around and headed to the other side of the building with Xu Jia Li still on his arms. Confused, Xu Jia Li asked, "Hey, Mr. Si! Where are you taking me?"
"I can't let you stay
"Then, where are we going exactly? Can you please let me down? I can walk from here."
"Ms. Xu, be a good girl and just let me carry you."
Instead of answering, Xu Jia Li chose to just be quiet and let him carry her. She turned her head, scanning the surrounding. They were actually heading to the last apartment door in that floor. She couldn't help but think, 'Does he have a friend living here?'
When they reached the apartment door, she heard Si Weimin said, "Jia, open the door."
"W-what? How can I open this? This isn't my apartment at all." confused, she asked.
"Open the door." Si Weimin chuckled.
"Mr. Si, have you gone mad? Why would I open this? Are you nuts? I'm not good in lock picking." She exclaimed before she rolled her eyes at him.
"Ha ha ha ha"
She glared at him as he heard him laugh so hard. "What's so funny?"
"Ms. Xu, even if you're so good at lock picking, there's really no need for that. The door here only opens through fingerprints, facial features or pa.s.sword." Si Weimin explained in between laugh.
She could see how he's enjoying teasing her. Infuriated, she slightly punched his chest as she retorted,
"I'm not stupid or dumb, okay? It was only an expression I said in the heat of the moment. My point is, why are you asking me to open this door? I think you really damaged your head. Tss."
Si Weimin only chuckled as he replied with an amuse tone, "Do you really wish to have my head be damaged? It's the second time you said that."
"Mr. Si, if you're willing to just stand here teasing me while carrying me, then it's up to you. It's not like I'll be tired."
"Don't sulk. I'm only kidding." He chuckled as he slowly put her down and began to press the screen.
A sound immediately played before a recorded voice was heard, "You're back, Mr. Si. Please put your face closer to the detector, or you can just put your finger print on the screen, you can – " Before the voice finished, Si Weimin entered a couple of numbers on the screen.

'Mr. Si? Is this his apartment? Why didn't he just tell me? Pfft!'
Xu Jia Li didn't really want to see what he was about to type, however, she was shocked to see the numbers Si Weimin pressed. 'It was my birthday!'

Si Weimin carried Xu Jia Li again after he opened the door. He walked right to the big white sofa and carefully put her down.
"Just stay here. I'll just get the medicine." When he was about to turn around, Xu Jia Li grabbed his hand.
"Ge, don't treat me like I'm the one who got hurt. I'm not as fragile. I feel even guiltier and useless."
"Ah, Jia…" Si Weimin was a loss for words when she heard Xu Jia Li. He looked at her with so much love.
"I promise, I'm really fine. My feet don't really hurt. It was nothing. Let me tend to your wounds first."
Si Weimin could only sigh upon hearing Xu Jia Li. He knew that she would not budge so he patted her head as he said in a gentle voice, "Okay. So how about I clean your wound first and then you tend to mine after?"
When he saw her nod, he immediately went to get the first aid kit on his room. When he got back, he started to put antiseptic to her blisters. His heart ached seeing that it would be hard for her to walk for the next couple of days.
He glanced at her, afraid that the antiseptic might sting and pained her. Seeing that she had a smile on her face, he felt relieved. He gently and slowly put a cream to the wounds to avoid scarring. He would never take it if she scarred her feet.
After putting band aids on her soles, he sat next to her and smiled – the sweetest smile only Xu Jia Li could bring, "All done. Now, let me see your hands."
Without even lifting her hands, Si Weimin took them as he began to scan them. Seeing the scratch and a slight bruise on her wrist caused by Qi Xenjin, he looked at her and asked,
"Does this hurt?"
"No, not at all. It's only a scratch. It's nothing."
"How can you still say it's nothing." Si Weimin pinched the tip of her nose before he took the antiseptic and cleaned the scratch. He also put a band aid before he kissed it lovingly.
"I was really worried about you so I came to see you tonight."
