Chapter 14
But, we had to keep moving.
For the first time, I was walking with the Empress.
"So, we are climbing the... mountain?" I asked.
"Climbing?" She asked confused. Then giggled. "No dear, we are hiking."
I was dumbfounded.
"But, Emily said that we were climbing it." I pointed out.
"She lied." The Empress sighed.
"Oh..."
"Anyways, I need to give you information about the mountain." The Empress said changing the subject.
"As you know, its the most dangerous place to be in. But you don't know the reasons. The mountain is divided into four layers.
The first layer holds vampires you can't protect yourselves from them because you are human and not powerful against them." She explained.
"For that, you will find your own power within yourself. Anyways, the next layer holds zombies. They are dangerous and will come after your brain but again, you'll use your power. The third layer holds ghosts they will come after you. All the dangerous creatures and nothing existing in Earth, but are myths, will come at only and only you. We can't use our power against then only you can."
I looked at the Empress, surprised.
"I-I have a power?" I asked, not believing it.
"Yes, dear." The Empress replied.
But... I had to find it.
"What if I can't find it what if I'm not powerful against all of them?" I asked, concerned.
"No, dear, don't think like that, it'll come you just have to focus." The Empress confronted me.
I believed in her.
"Wait, what if Liam controls them against me?" I wondered.
"Look dear, every mythical creature existing here has their own power, no one can control them except themselves. Yes, he did control the Sorrow wolves because they have the power of an emotion. Emotions are not powerful. That's why he had access to their power, taking advantage of you." The Empress explained.
I nodded with the information I was receiving.
"How is your eyesight I know it changed color." She asked.
"A... bit blurry but I'm fine."
"Good. We are almost there." She said.
My heart pounded with every footstep I took towards the Zemenine mountain.
