Chapter 1
In the 147th year of the Solstern Empire, Count Jared Etoile was beheaded as a traitor at the capital square.
The day after her husband was beheaded, Countess Audrey Etoile died of a heart attack in prison. The count's eldest son, Ian Etoile, was mysteriously poisoned at a monastery in a foreign country. The count's second son, Hans Etoile, was missing at sea. The count's youngest child, Rosé Etoile, the Empress of Solstern, died at the hands of her husband, the Emperor Ca.s.sias of the Solstern Empire.
Regardless of what standing they were, all ladies of the Solstern Empire dreamed of becoming the crown princess. But why dream of being crown princess instead of empress? Because of the otherworldly beauty of Crown Prince Ca.s.sias Dumas.
Platinum hair gracefully blown away revealed emerald eyes. The mere presence of his tall figure held an aura of n.o.bility and grandeur. And most of all, his charming smile that captured everyone's hearts. When he raised his lip and laughed, a sweet breeze seemed to gently pa.s.s by.
Before falling asleep, countless young girls across the empire imagined holding Prince Ca.s.sius's hand as they entered the palace, believing that they would be that main character of the crown princess.
The naive and lovely Rosé Etoile was one of them, and as luck would have it, she fulfilled that dream.
It was the 144th year of the Empire. On the day of the New Year's Ball, Rosé, was invited to dance by Ca.s.sias and fell in love with him at first sight.
Then, on her 17th birthday, she was proposed to by the prince. The imperial family held a grand wedding for the two, and everyone was envious of the perfect couple that appeared unmatched in all of the imperial history.
All of this pa.s.sed as smooth as flowing water.
But their marriage soon went awry. As Empress of the Solten Empire and wife of Ca.s.sias, Rosé Etoile was accused of being unqualified to sit in her position.
Author's note: Good morning. Please enjoy Rosé's story!
Translator's corner: i promise i won't drop this until at least chapter 39! Each chapter is scheduled to update every Sunday, at 10:00 PM ET. I started translating when the author was on chapter 39, so hopefully I'll be able to keep translating until the author completes her/his novel. When the novel is completed, the website requires me to purchase chapters past the first 5~10 chapters. So. I will diligently translate so that I can catch up with the author and store chapters until he/she finishes writing. And I hope the author finishes this novel!
And most of all, hope you enjoy!
