Chapter 1016: Contact Person
Chapter 1016: Contact Person
The contact person was a professor from Beijing University. He was a building away from the laboratory Jian Yiling typically spent time in.
Jian Yiling and Feng Wei visited Professor Chen’s office together.
Professor Chen’s office appeared rather ordinary. It was simple, plain, and filled with various books.
When they arrived, Professor Chen greeted them with a smile. Previously, he was standing beside a bookcase.
Professor Chen was quite old. According to Feng Wei, Professor Chen was roughly sixty years old. He had white hair and his hairline almost reached the top of his head.
"Jian Yiling, I’ve heard a lot about you," Professor Chen said as he greeted Jian Yiling with a smile on his face.
Lately, Jian Yiling had been on the news quite a lot. Some were good things whilst others were bad.
Although Professor Chen did not really care about gossip, Jian Yiling had been involved in incidents that caused turmoil in the academic circles. As a result, he had heard quite a bit about her.
"Professor Chen, if you know Yiling, then this matter will be easier to talk about," Feng Wei said with a smile.
"Yeah, I do know her. I believe many people from Xunyu have also heard of her name. However, Xunyu accepts talents from all walks of life. Although Jian Yiling’s achievements in medicine are outstanding, in other industries, her achievements may not seem that great. I hope Mr. Feng and Miss Jian Yiling are mentally
Professor Chen said this in advance so that the two of them would not have high hopes. He did not want them to be disappointed.
When Feng Wei heard this, he hurriedly replied: "Professor Chen, please don’t worry about that. We just wanted you to refer us to Xunyu. The rest is up to us."
"Well then, here’s the referral letter. Please take the letter and follow the instructions to contact the assessors from the Xunyu Natural Science Research Association."
"Thank you, Professor Chen," Feng Wei said as he was about to leave.
However, Jian Yiling stood in the same place.
"Yiling, what’s wrong? Why aren’t you leaving?" Feng Wei asked. By this point, he had already reached the door. However, Jian Yiling still stood in the same spot.
"Professor Chen, is this the first question?" Jian Yiling asked.
"Miss Jian Yiling, what are you saying?" Professor Chen replied with a smile.
"That assessor should be you," Jian Yiling answered.
"Hahaha," Professor Chen laughed, "Your observation skills are indeed amazing. Please tell me about how you came to this conclusion."
"The documents sitting on your table are from the Xunyu Natural Science Research Association. Furthermore, the document is titled development planning and membership arrangement. An ordinary member of the Xunyu Natural Science Research Association would not have access to this," Jian Yiling said as she pointed to a document on the desk.
"And what else?" Professor Chen continued to ask with a smile.
"And your referral letter and instructions. In your referral letter, there’s no handwritten signature. In theory, that means this is a useless referral letter. Furthermore, the address in the instructions does not exist. Xingda Road ends at number one hundred and sixty-three. However, according to the instructions, it’s an address somewhere in the nine hundreds."
There were too many strange things.
If Jian Yiling turned around to leave right now, she would be regarded as stupid.
"Hahahaha," Professor Chen laughed with satisfaction. "Indeed, you’re correct. This is the first assessment. We were testing your observation skills. It’s not a difficult assessment. You can pass as long as you have some observation skills."
Upon hearing these words, Feng Wei could not laugh.
It seemed as though he was not worthy to become a member.
