Chapter 8
She did the most of the talk on the way home and only asked me small things. She wanted to cook tonight so she made pork ribs and mash potatoes! What a fest! I hope she saves more lives in the future!
I slowly chew the meat to enjoy the festivity. My mom was smiling looking at me really slowly enjoying this rare meal. When I was a kid back then I ate this meal like it was fast food without even testing it, and even ask for my mom portion. What a d.i.c.khead.
Anyway, she asked about my day. I calmly told her:
"It was really cool, I had a match with a big boy and won. So now all the first-grade students have the half of the recess ground for ourselves. We made a makes.h.i.+ft football field. It was really cool, I met with a new interesting kid, he's Han. It's Asian and talks funny but he's a cool kid"
My mom was amused and told me "Oh, a cool kid? And what are you? A grown-up man? HAHA. It's a joke don't get angry honey, it's really nice that you enjoyed your first day at school! Now, can the grown-up man help me clean the table and wash the dishes?"
I laughed and nodded while finis.h.i.+ng my meal. After I help her I took a quick shower before coming to my bedroom. I read a little while of the old strategy book that was still on my hands from the weekend.

Eric POV
In all my years of teaching at the public school, I saw a lot of s.h.i.+t. From kids dealing drugs and bringing guns of their parents to school. Thank G.o.d for no school shooting yet. I think the biggest reason is the expensive ammo, thank G.o.d for the greedy guns dealers.
But in all my years of teaching, I never saw something like what I saw during the first week of school this year.
I saw a little kid from the first grade of the school to bet $50 to won a match of soccer against the biggest kid around, the thug Marcus from fourth grade.
It was an amazing match, the kid even did a fly kick and all. But the most amazing of all this. This little kid had brought a little of order to this chaotic recess ground. At least half of the recess ground was a soccer field so we
But the kid not only had a bright mind in all the school subjects, also had the charm to bring a lot of people good side. A lot of teachers were already talking good things about him.
I even joking asked for an autograph from the amazing football player to have him grab a permanent marker from my desk and sign on my cup of coffee. Even the signature was like an adult, did he practiced signing a lot? What an amusing kid! This year is gonna be interesting.
...
Little did Eric know, that he was now in possession of the most expensive cup of coffee of the world. It was the first doc.u.mented signature from David.

FINALLY FRIDAY! YES!
I excitedly waited for my mother at the exit of school with my football ball under my arm like always. A couple of kids saying bye to me, Han too. He was trying to chat a little more but was still worried about his accent so not so much.
Finally, my mom arrived, she apologized for the late arrival. There was an emergency and had to deal with the situation before coming here. I sometimes forgot about her demanding job, I hope I made enough money to shoulder some of the expenses around the house to let her not work so many hours. This extras hours will take a toll on her health later on. What an irony, staying more hours to heal people only to her to get worse.
We walked quickly while I told her my plans. She told me numerous times that this money is for my birthday, so if I use it now I will not have a birthday present. I told her that I understood and we quickly went to the betting house. It was the RedHorse Betting House, it was open 24hs and was the biggest betting house around the country.
We arrived and had a couple of weird looks. Of course, people would look at us strangely, a nurse and a 6-year-old kid going to a betting house this late in the afternoon. Pretty weird, a couple of men looked with pity at me like it was my mom a gambling addict.
She was too tired to notice all this and just went to the front free gla.s.s counter. She was about to explain the situation when I said to her:
"NO MOM! I want to talk to the manager, to make my money worth every penny!"
She made a defeated smile and told the cas.h.i.+er that, the cas.h.i.+er just laughed and called the manager jokingly saying that if he was into kids nowadays.
A grumbly old and fat man walked out of a steel door and talked to me and said "What do you want kid?! Don't you see people are actually busy here?"
Before my mom would erupt and began swearing at him I said "Hey grampa! I just want to make a good bet with my birthday money! A lot of people around told me that the good old Gunter always make wins! So I came looking for you! Sorry, if you are busy we could always come another day!"
The face of Gunter changed and walked us into his office, of course, who would get mad to a polite and kiss a.s.s kid? But I knew this guy from my past life, he was greedy as h.e.l.l and always underestimated teens. One time he has an extremely good deal to a teen that he said that South Korea would be on the final 4 of the world cup. He gave him 35000:1 odds and made a bet of $100. He won 350k and made him look like a fool, while he received a commission of the bet, he didn't gain as much because he was certain about the impossibility of the result and so he didn't change any terms.
I was currently wanting a deal like that, or maybe even better. I quickly told him "Grandpa! I know the results of the UEFA Champions League! Even all the goals and who will score them!"
He began to laugh really loud and told me "REALLY KID? SO THEN TELL ME! HAHA!"
I innocently made a confused face and told him "How can I tell you those player names? They are so hard to say! Can you please bring me a bracket of the Champions League and all the names of the players on paper please?"
He began to laugh even louder and said "HAHAHAHA OKEY KID! I WILL OBEY YOU! HAHA"
He then disappears into the crowded common office and then I told to my mother "Sh, don't say anything, I know exactly who to bet, I'm doing this to make him give us a better deal! Making my money worth!"
She nodded and kept silent. What a comprehensive mother, or maybe she will kick my a.s.s at home...Time will tell.
After a while, he came back with all the things I asked and he had a greedy smile on his face "The minimum bet for asking a manager to bring information for you to make a bet is $200 didn't you knew that?"
