Chapter 6
Music filled the young girl's ears as she laid on her bed, "Why am I the way I am? Do I have a purpose other than just being here?" she sighed to herself. Marie had battled her depression and anxiety in silence for a long time. She hated being alone but felt like no one understood her. She had managed to push everyone away.
"Everyone has a purpose," a voice whispered breathlessly, "Yours is very desirable to me!"
She looked into the darkness around her but nothing revealed the voice, "Who's there?" she shouted probably a little too loudly.
"Oh, no one in particular. Just a similar soul wondering around looking for her purpose," the voice responded, "I am Soma, a demon, I guess you would call me," the girl felt eyes on her.
How fear and curiosity can make you forget yourself, "Can I see you?" the girl whispered like it was a secret from G.o.d. She did not know if she should behold a demon. "Oh, and sorry I am Marie. I sometimes forget my manners. I am probably one of the most normal people you will ever meet," Marie smiled at the direction of the voice.
"If you can hear and see me you are far from normal," the voice laughed, a dark and hallow.
Hurt by the statement, "I can't see you!" Marie pressured. Still unsure as to why she wanted to see this demon, maybe so she wouldn't be alone.
Soma stepped into the light, her long white hair swayed with her hips as she walked. Her skin a light pale blueish color without any blemishes. She wore a long white dress that touched the floor and draped her lanky figure. She looked like a normal seventeen year old girl other than her blue skin and her eyes, which were solid white, no pupil or anything. Marie thought she looked like her but denied it because Soma was too beautiful to look like herself.
Still Marie looked amazed, "Wow! You are beautiful!" Marie smiled.
"Most humans can't see me and the ones who can they lock up," Soma frowned, "I am your guardian. I am here to make sure that doesn't happen." A dark glint flashed in her smile but Marie ignored it.
"Guardian? Aren't Guardians supposed to be angels?" Marie questioned hoping not to upset the frail demon. She somehow new that the demon could be hurt.
"Ah, no. You see
"So, G.o.d abandoned me?" Marie asked confused and hurt, "Because I am crazy?" Marie didn't feel like that was right, she believed G.o.d loved her no matter what but the demon was so convincing.
"Oh, yes!" Soma smiled, "but Lucifer being a fallen angel decided that demons could guard and help the ones left over." Soma's eyes darkend but remained an eerie white, "I was sent to make sure you knew how alone you are."
Marie shook her head violently, "I don't want to be alone! I don't want to be abandoned."
Soma looked at Marie with a dark smile, "it is too late for that. You have secluded yourself, now I am here. That means no one wants you. You will end up in a hospital next or..."
Marie's eyes went wide, "I don't want to be in a hospital! I don't want to be alone anymore."
Soma's smile widened, "Don't worry you won't have to." Soma's nails grew into black talons, her skin turned baby blue and her hair shortened turning dark blue, and fangs grew from every tooth. Her white eyes did not change though. She pushed Marie onto the bed; putting her face close enough Marie could smell death on her breath. "Wake up Marie, wake up, you don't want to miss your death," Soma's soft voice spoke from the creatures mouth.
Marie felt the demon's talons push into her wrists. Marie's screams echoed through the darkness but no one came to her aid. She was alone with her demon.
Poem: Air of Fear
Withered was the body
Alone was the girl
Magical was the night
Afraid was the child
Cruel was the killer
Critical was the parent
Sad was the one who was left
All the world heard
All the city cried
Murder was shouted
in the streets!
Murdered was the women
All alone in the ground
All done
All gone
We morn
Poem: Done
The day
Like a naked flower.
Nothing more than a silken stick.
A soft, frail line
That day,
That horrible day.
The sky dark,
Like light had given up on humanity.
Unaware.
Unnamed.
Undone.
Time slowed
Like rain on fabric.
Her life ending,
Her world behind her.
Betrayal.
Beauty.
Disaster.
She pressed her finger to her lips,
Silencing her very breath.
Life escaped her momentarily.
Then, gasping,
It all came back.
She was under
Her own spell.
A life worse than death.
Her life.
Not there anymore.

Poem: Roll Away
Through Pain,
Through Doubt,
Always remember there is power
In you to roll away the stone,
Get up,
Rise again,
And concur!
Go telling of
The grace you
Have found
Remember,
Always,
That I am
Here!
Poem: Dear G.o.d
My soul hurts
When I remember the person I was
I cannot understand
Your love for a sinner like me
I wish to make it to
The pearly gates but
I am afraid that I won't fit in
Like I don't fit in down here.
I am not perfect
As you well know.
You see me for me
I thank you so very much
I only live today because
Of your many gifts.
I will not miss my life anymore.
I love you so much!
A Faithful follower.
Missing, lost, hopeful, and grateful.
The soul.
