Chapter 558
Piracy is an act of robbery or criminal violence by s.h.i.+p or boat-borne attackers upon another s.h.i.+p or a coastal area, typically with the goal of stealing cargo and other valuable items or properties. Those who engage in acts of piracy are called pirates. The earliest doc.u.mented instances of piracy were in the 14th century BC, when the Sea Peoples, a group of ocean raiders, attacked the s.h.i.+ps of the Aegean and Mediterranean civilizations. Narrow channels which funnel s.h.i.+pping into predictable routes have long created opportunities for piracy,[1] as well as for privateering and commerce raiding. Historic examples include the waters of Gibraltar, the Strait of Malacca, Madagascar, the Gulf of Aden, and the English Channel, whose geographic structures facilitated pirate attacks.[2] A land-based parallel is the ambus.h.i.+ng of travelers by bandits and brigands in highways and mountain pa.s.ses.[3] Privateering uses similar methods to piracy, but the captain acts under orders of the state authorizing the capture of merchant s.h.i.+ps belonging to an enemy nation, making it a legitimate form of war-like activity by non-state actors.[4]

I know that all the people who thought that HXl and YLX were selected seem a bit stupid but think of it this way, all these people clearly don't know what that thing beneath their feet is, even BHZ and DBC are unsure, and HXL and YLX although not the most powerful are obviously above common goods. In this case, given that these two actually do have some degree of talent (a lot of it in other people's eyes), they would obviously a.s.sume that the two had been selected for the inheritance.
It's not really that stupid of them…
